Evil Master of Magic!

If you haven’t seen it, Fwoosher Matthew K has written a great review of Count Marzo, loaded with beautiful pics that were shot on a stunning custom diorama, so I’m gonna be lazy and just hit ya with some quick pics!

I actually missed out on buying Count Marzo from MattyCollector.com in July. Then last week I had the good fortune to meet a local Masters of the Universe Classics collector who had an extra Count Marzo which he was kind enough to sell to me. As I’ve said before, I’m not a He-Man or MOTU fan but the Count here is yet another on a growing list of MOTUC figures that I really wanted simply because it was a cool action figure.

Count Marzo comes outfitted with his magical amulet and sword. Both can be hand held or carried on his belt. His left hand is sculpted specifically to grip his amulet and it grips the amulet well. I love the sculpt of the sword except for the red tip on the point which makes it kinda goofy looking.

Marzo has a great visual vibe, I love the sculpt of the face and the expression the Horsemen gave him. It brings to mind a thoroughly pissed off  and super buff Vlad Tepes. His attire is a great mix of designs too. The cape and chest armor have a Kirby flavor, like something Jack would’ve drawn on Odin, while Marzo’s skirt (or is it a kilt?) makes me think “samurai.” And yet this odd mix of styles all work for Count Marzo.

Hey ladies, Count Marzo... Unleashed!

Count Marzo’s noggin’ can be popped off so that his cape can be removed for some “unleashed” action! He’s in pretty good shape for an evil wizard.

I’m very glad I was able to get a hold of Count Marzo, he’s the baddest evil wizard-warrior action figure I’ve ever had. Okay, so he’s the only evil wizard-warrior action figure I’ve ever had, he’s still badder n’ James Brown, Shaft and Kung Fu all rolled up!
