Green Lantern Classics Wave 2 Quick Pics

Green Lantern Classics wave 2 (1280x960).jpg

I was psyched to get an armful of figures from Mattel after their collector event on Sunday, including a nearly complete set of Green Lantern Classics Wave 2. These all had stickers on the back of the package labeled “PI” – I think that might indicate some product imperfections. But I’m not complaining at all – the only thing I noticed was on Nite-Lik – he does not have a Red Lantern logo on his chest underneath the head piece, so he won’t be able to be displayed as Skallox.

I didn’t have a lot of time to take pictures (I’m on my way back home from NYC today), but here’s a look at the packaging for each of the figures I got. Hagop was a bit luckier than me, he got the pets pack, which also includes a Collect and Connect piece, so he’ll be able to assemble a Stel.

Some quick comments on the figures:

  • Sodam Yat did come with an alternate hand in his package – switching them out is easy.
  • Carol Ferris’s ab articulation functions as a swivel – there’s very little movement front to back or side to side.
  • G’hu stands up very easily, as his feet are fairly solid. His articulation scheme will be new to those who are used to DC Universe Classics. For example, his elbows are swivels. His little arms (?) near his neck are articulated.
  • It’s very easy to switch out the parts for Naut Kei Loi / Medphyll and Nite-Lik / Skallox. I think Skallox looks like he suffers a bit from no-neck syndrome.

Stay tuned for more pictures after I get set up back home. And let us know what you think of GLC wave 2 – leave a comment below!

These look flippin fantastic! Too bad the GLUC series ends after this one, as I would have liked to see many, many more of these. Although, the movie line looks to be adding a few nice interpretations of GL characters, but they are movieverse style, so they may be a turn-off for some.

Found these at walmart in pittsburgh today. Horrible quality control, the plastic insert was superglued to my skallox figure, looks bad, I need a new one. Steel is a super huge BAF! The fish guy rocks! I’m not sure how I feel about The movie figure.
