AFP Ask Matty Round-Up for 6/1/11

Would you look at this? We made the deadline for the latest installment of Ask Matty. Big thanks to the folks at Mattel!

1) We’re pretty psyched to have Swamp Thing finally joining the DC Universe Classics line! Can you tell us more about the “endoskeletal” articulation – is that an existing DCUC body under there, or a new base just from Swamp Thing? Will the underlying figure have the standard DCUC points of articulation, like bicep, waist, wrist, and thigh swivels?

We’ve asked design if they can provide specifics. As soon as we get an answer back we will post it.

2) Green Lantern Classics wave 2 was the first time you’ve sold retail figures individually on MattyCollector.com. Based on how that went, how would you feel about offering more DC waves online individually vs sets?

It did go well and we will be applying the model to future DCUC waves. The individual figures sold better compared to offering them as a set.

3) The San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Voltron looks awesome. We’re guessing the upcoming toy line will be oriented towards the new Voltron Force show. Will we be seeing more classic Voltron toys from Mattel after the SDCC exclusive? If it’s on MattyCollector.com, what are the thoughts about a subscription?

All of this will be answered at SDCC! Stay tuned.

4) We were surprised to not see an exclusive for WWE – is there more still to come as far as SDCC exclusives are concerned?

No, we have revealed all of our SDCC 2011 items. There is no WWE for sale item.

5) You’ve talked about a new female buck that will be used in the She-Ra reissue later this year. Is that the buck that’s being used for Marlena? If so, what are the key differences between that and the existing female buck?

No, it is not the buck used on Marlena. You will see the new buck with She-Ra 2.0 and we will have more details at SDCC!
