Diamond Select Toys Marvel vs. Capcom Minimates Series 3 are a Blast

Hats off to whoever has been taking the pictures for the recent Diamond Select Toys reveals. These shots of Marvel vs. Capcom Minimates Series 3 capture all the fun that can be had with Minimates. There’s some real dream match-ups here.

And if this shot doesn’t sell you on a Minimates MODOK, I don’t know what will.

Marvel vs. Capcom Minimates are Back for Round 3! Fight!

After two rounds, Diamond Select Toys has still not decided who the winner is in their Marvel vs. Capcom Minimates line. Now it’s time for the third and final round! Series 3 hits comic shops this week, and will be coming to Toys “R” Us shortly, and DST has put together a series of exhibition bouts to show off the new characters’ moves! In a new photo shoot, DST has pitted Marvel characters against Capcom characters based on Series 3’s two-pack pairings. That card includes:

  • Captain America vs. Ryu
  • Doctor Doom vs. Wesker
  • She-Hulk vs. Chun Li (specialty market exclusive)
  • X-23 vs. Felicia (specialty market exclusive)
  • MODOK vs. Akuma (Toys “R” Us exclusive)
  • Thor vs. Amaterasu (Toys “R” Us exclusive)

Each Minimate stands 2 inches tall with 14 points of articulation and character-specific accessories. Check out the gallery here, and pick up your specialty sets this week!

  1. Seriously? Baby toys?

I believe Zach Oat of DST takes all of the photos that are posted on the Facebook page. I think they do a great job of selling the figures.

  2. I am not saying he doesn´t do a good job with the photography. They just look like Baby toys. I think they look ridiculous and not good representations of the Marvel comic characters I love. The Hasbro Marvel Universe on the other hand look like the characters just stepped right off the page.

  3. Hey, everyone likes different things, stack32. Sorry you don’t like Minimates, Bane. Our Marvel Select line might be more your speed!

Although I’m willing to bet that the average collector age for Marvel Minimates and Marvel Select (and Marvel Universe, and Superhero Squad) is probably about the same.
