Hot Toys Reveals First of 2013 Exclusives – Captain America Movie Star Spangled Man

Captain America First Avenger Star Spangled Man with a Plan screen cap

Hot Toys spent their Fourth of July revealing the first of their 2013 exclusives – the “Star Spangled Man with a Plan” from Captain America: the First Avenger. It’s got a great first appearance feel to it, even if you weren’t a fan of the movie. I loved it though, even if the USO segment that featured this costume was a little long.

I’m sure Sideshow Collectibles will get an allotment of these figures, like they did with the Hot Toys Rescue Captain America exclusive from last year.

To celebrate the start of this bustling season, Hot Toys is thrilled to share with you a first glance at one of the Toy Fairs Exclusive items this year – the Star Spangled Man Version of Captain America Collectible Figurine.

Please stay tuned for the pre-order information of the “Star Spangled Man with a plan” as well as the reveal of more Hot Toys 2013 Toy Fairs Exclusive items.

  1. A little long? That was too short, maybe being the best part of the movie, as he actually LOOKED like the Captain America I know. I know the way the suit was put together was supposed to look hokey and reminiscent of that era, but I feel with the proper modern materials, they could have kept the same design and made it work with good writing and Chris’ performance. It’d be nice if Hasbro gave us something like this in the (more) affordable 6″ range.

  2. but but but… all that singing and dancing? Cap should be smacking Hydra goons with his shield! 😀

  3. He got to that, but at least the song was inspiring and fit the period and made his having a name and costume like that make sense in the context of the film universe. Also, he looked like his true 616 comic self, most importantly. I can’t emphasize that enough.
