NYCC 2013: Mattypalooza Booth Updates

Our video update of the Mattypalooza panel at New York Comic-Con is coming up. In the meantime, here’s some quick pics of Mattel’s booth after the panel.

The DC Universe Classics sub lives – kind of. Doomsday is an SDCC exclusive – kind of. Total Heroes will satisfy fans with Mattycollector offerings – kind of. I’ll try to be a glass half full guy from now on – kind of. For Masters of the Universe Classics, it’s Extendar and Flogg steaming up the display cabinets. Toy Guru is holding firm on the no Unnamed One reveal until he shows up on your doorstep (if you subbed!)

To get you the pics you want as fast as I can, I’m hooking you into my Instagram feed. If you’re on Instagram, follow me at afpron – that’s for AFP Ron, not AF Pron :). Stay tuned for better pictures soon.

  1. I don’t know what Mattel is expecting with those online Total Heroes figures. Yeah, okay, the retail figures are barebones kid-aimed figures at a lower pricepoint. I can understand that. Hasbro has been doing the same thing with their Star Wars Mission Series line. But the Matty figures are $20. Let’s see, DCUC subscription fails at $20 a figure…so Mattel offers a line of vastly inferior figures for the exact same price. Not seeing the logic there.
Do they really think that John Stewart will sell better than a DCUC 90s Kyle Rayner would? Or that Batman Beyond vs. the cancelled one they showed for the Unlimited line?
Flogg looks awesome, at least. Hopefully a NA Skeletor will be revealed soon, then I’d be pretty satisfied with that era.

  2. mayatohid yes coming out next year some of them are exclusives but i have my eyes on batman beyond
