Before we got tied up with CustomCon 36, DC Collectibles wrapped up another Spoiler Alert game. They revealed the New 52 Hawkgirl. Some folks had it guessed from the first image (a portion of her wings) but I had no idea – not reading the New 52 Earth 2 didn’t help.
The grumpy old man in me wants to know why they had to mess with her color scheme – I know New 52 is, well, new, but I’d like more nods to the history, and the brown, red, green, and yellow always worked for the Thanagarians. Hawkgirl’s still a Thanagarian, right?

Nope. She has no links to Thanagar. Her wings are part of an Egyptian curse while she was a Tomb Raider.
Her color scheme works well for her new character. I think Robinson was building towards her being the avatar of Order, while Dr Fate was Chaos. That’s why she kinda resembles Dove from Hawk and Dove.
