Looks like Santa wasn’t the only toy maker busy on Christmas Eve. Hot Toys made two announcements - I’m going nuts over the T800 from Terminator 2, but am still not feeling the Leonidas head sculpt, even on the new extra head for him.

Just as they promised, Hot Toys released info on the first figure from their new 300 license – King Leonidas. I had wondered how Hot Toys would handle the articulation on a mostly nude figure, and it looks like on the arms and legs it’ll be flexible “skin” over an articulated armature. Cool!
I don’t think at this stage the likeness to Gerard Butler is there, but Hot Toys will probably release pics with the final head closer to production, like they did recently with Wolverine, John Connor, and Marcus Wright. In the meantime, I think it’s ok to drool over this and still consider yourself a manly man.

It’ll be interesting to see what Hot Toys does with the license for 300. I think NECA did a nice job with their assortment of 7-inch figures
but I was always hoping for something super-articulated.
