Hasbro Reveals Ahsoka Tano for Black Series at Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars Rebels hero is first non-film character to join the 6-inch line

Hasbro Reveals Ahsoka Tano at Star Wars Celebration

Hasbro was on site at Star Wars Celebration with an exclusive first-time reveal: the prototype for Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars Rebels in the Star Wars Black Series 6-inch line. We’d previously seen her join the 3.75-inch animated line for the show, but this will be the first time a character from outside the original trilogy and the prequels will be featured in the 6-inch line.

After a relatively scarce showing for the Black Series at Toy Fair, we were expecting some confirmation of Black Series figures for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Not just yet, but perhaps we’ll see something in this regard from Hasbro before Celebration is through. If not, then definitely at San Diego Comic-Con.

New Hot Toys and LEGO for Star Wars Celebration [Updated]

New Hot Toys and LEGO for Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars Celebration starts today, and while we can’t be there, we’ll do our best to follow the announcements. After all, with Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens coming this year, this promises to be one of the biggest Celebrations yet. All the collectibles companies will be there in force (awful pun intended).

Hot Toys even has a new Stormtrooper created exclusively for Star Wars Celebration. The Spacetrooper was featured in Episode IV – you’ll see them, with their special zero-gravity and rebreather gear, when the Millenium Falcon is dragged into the hangar of the Death Star (“That’s no moon…”) You can pre-order the Spacetrooper Sixth Scale Figure by Hot Toys at Sideshow Collectibles.

LEGO revealed large scale buildable figures at Toy Fair this year, and they’ll have four new figures joining the first two, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, at Star Wars Celebration. They’ve sent us pictures of Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous, and we’ll try to hunt down pics of Jango Fett and Commander Coby. These will be available at shop.lego.com and brick and mortar stores in September. [Update: LEGO has sent us pics of a new Tatooine mini-build set.]

It’s No Laughing Matter – Win the Arkham Asylum Joker from Sideshow

The Clown Prince of Crime kicks off a new Premium Format Figure line from Sideshow Collectibles

Sideshow Collectibles Arkham Asylum Joker Premium Format Figure Giveaway

If you’re a fan of the Batman: Arkham Asylum series of video games, Sideshow is holding a giveaway you’d be crazy to pass up. They are launching a new line of Premium Format Figures for the game, and the Joker is the first of them to be revealed. Standing at over 2 feet tall, his appearance is styled after the designs of the game – before he self-medicated with the Titan drug, of course.

It looks like Batman will be the next figure in the line, and if it’s a hit, then I hope we’ll see Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. And I think it’d be overkill to see Premium Format Figures of Bane, Killer Croc, and a Titan Joker – they’d be ginormous!

You can enter the Arkham Asylum Joker giveaway at Sideshow – it will be $449.99 when it goes up for pre-order tomorrow. If you’ve got the toy budget for it, I’d suggest getting in on it early – the Sideshow exclusive version will also have a swappable laughing portrait (shown above). Good luck!

Kickstarter Monday: Boss Fight Studio Skeleton and Four Horsemen Ravens Variants [Updated]

Kickstarter Monday - Boss Fight Studio Skeleton and Four Horsemen Raven Variants

These two Kickstarter campaigns are already past their funding stages, but there’s still exciting developments for this week’s Kickstarter update. Boss Fight Studio was at G.I. JOE Con this weekend, but before they left for the show they gave us a first look at one of the most highly anticipated figures of the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. campaign. And while the Four Horsemen previously completed fulfillment of the Gothitropolis Ravens and are now ramping up for production on Mythic Legions, they have revisited the former and are making two variant birds available through Action Figure Xpress.
