Press Pics of Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Fan Choice – Lady Bullseye, Madrox, and Warpath

Press pics have surfaced for the three 6-inch Marvel Legends prototype figures that Jesse Falcon displayed at Wizard World Philly.  Lady Bullseye, Madrox the Multiple Man, and Warpath will be among 16 – 18 “mostly new” prototypes on display in Hasbro’s booth at San Diego Comic-Con.  Starting at San Diego, Hasbro is opening up a Fan’s Choice poll for a wave of Marvel Legends 2-packs for 2010.

The top three vote-getters will be slotted into that wave of 2-packs.  The Hasbro Marvel team will then pick another 3 figures from the prototypes shown, to be paired up with the Fan’s Choices.  So, three 2-packs, with three of the figures chosen by fans, and three chosen by the Hasbro Marvel team.  The timing for that wave has not yet been determined.

Now, let’s take a look at the figures.

AFP’s Hasbro Marvel Q&A Roundup – 7/2/9

The Hasbro Marvel team checks in for the latest round of Q&A.  There’s some updates on when we’ll be seeing the Iron Man animated line and a clue on who will be coming in Secret Wars.  Unfortunately, my plea for Hasbro to just send me a Mighty Muggs Logan was far too subtle.

1. We’ll save the bulk of our San Diego Comic-Con questions for next Q&A, but here’s one for planning purposes. Will all the Marvel exclusives be available on HasbroToyShop.com? And will there be any differences between what’s available at the con and what will be released through HTS?

Yes, they will be available online, but they usually go reaaaaly fast, so make sure to get them quick! They’ll be the same as the units that are sold at the show.

Comparison Pics of X-Men Origins: Wolverine Deluxe Deadpool

Fwoosher blue devil found the deluxe version of Deadpool from the X-Men Origins: Wolverine line at a Toys R Us in the Vancouver area, and shared some comparison pictures of it with the earlier single-carded release.

Both costumes are from the recent Cable & Deadpool series, and while the costume differences are subtle, the deluxe version depicts the costume he sported later during Patrick Zircher’s run, while the earlier single-carded version looks most like how he was depicted at the start of the series by UDON.

While I like the looks of both, I am more partial to the later costume, and with the extra mass and height of the figure, it’s the clear winner for me.

Marvel Universe – Wave 4 – Loose

Marvel Universe Wave 4
Marvel Universe Wave 4

Alright, now we’re talking! At the end of last week I posted pictures and my review of Marvel Universe Wave 3, and with this review of Wave 4, I’m starting to get caught up on the backlog of figures. Just in time for San Diego Comic-Con! Wave 4 includes Union Jack, Moon Knight, Red Hulk, Blade, and Hobgoblin.

Hasbro is really getting the most out of its existing sculpts, with each figure in this wave reusing one of its predecessors. That’s not to say that I don’t like what they’ve done with this wave. In fact with all but one of these figures, there are new elements which has improved its looks.

Marvel Universe Wave 3

Ok, I admit it. I’m pretty far behind on taking loose shots of Hasbro’s Marvel Universe Wave 3 (and 4). I’ve had this series for a few weeks now, and Wave 4 just arrived a couple of days ago. So why the delay?

I blame Nick Fury. Since I heard about the Nick Fury exclusive figure, I’ve been meticulously saving up the card backs and inserts, not knowing what was going to be needed to for the promotion. And now, even after I’ve learned that it’s a Marvel Digital Comics subscription I’ll need to get it, and that the cards I so gently saved are not, my obsessive compulsive tendencies have kicked in. I’m being just as careful tearing these things open, and it takes time.

The real delay was waiting for the OpenX package opener that I ordered because I can’t help buying gadgets and wanted to use it to preserve the cards. The good news is it works great!

All right, let’s get onto the figures!
