Marvel Universe 2011 Wave 1 Retailer Pics

Apparently the first wave of Marvel Universe that’s slated for 2011 has started hitting at some Toys R Us locations. (Edit: Looks like I misread some Marvel sightings reports – this wave hasn’t been found at retail yet.)

If you prefer a sure thing like I do, you can pre-order a set, which includes Captain Marvel, Doc Samson, Iron Man, Planet Hulk, Spider-Man 2099, and Spider Woman, at some online retailers, like AFP sponsor Big Bad Toy Store.

About a week and a half ago, gunbuster718 shared some pics he took of his set of Marvel Legends Fan’s Choice Winner 2-packs – Black Widow / Winter Soldier, Deadpool / Warpath, and Valkyrie / Hulk. I was lucky enough to get 4 out of the 5 sets from that initial batch that showed up at Times Square Toys R Us – thanks GrownNerd! It’s been quite a wait since we the last wave of Marvel Legends 2-packs. We posted our last review, of the Dum Dum Dugan and Sharon Carter 2-pack, almost exactly a year ago. Now the latest set of 2-packs, featuring Valkyrie and Hulk, Black Widow and Winter Soldier, and Deadpool and Warpath, are hitting Toys R Us stores. I don’t have these in hand yet, but gunbuster718 of the Fwoosh was kind enough to share his pictures. I’ll write up some quick thoughts but will reserve judgment until I have my own set to review.

Marvel, Star Wars, and Transformers – October Press Pics

No new G.I. Joes images from Hasbro in the press pics they sent over for October, but we do have Marvel, Star Wars and Transformers – 50 images in total.

The Marvel team supplied new images from Super Hero Squad and Marvel Universe 2-packs exclusive to Target. I think the MU 2-packs have already come and gone from Target shelves, at least around me. I never saw the new Punisher on shelves, and Hasbro didn’t include a shot of that 2-pack either.

The Stark Expo 2010 festivities continue with the star-studded Iron Mania game show, hosted by Iron Man himself.

Joined by celebrity contestants Brian Michael Bendis, MC Chris and Claudio Sanchez from Coheed & Cambria, Marvel super heroes Nick Fury, War Machine, Thor and Hulk take part in a charity edition of Iron Mania. Surely nothing can go wrong!
