Weekend Toy Run: Mimoco USB Drives are Great Stocking Stuffers

Mimoco USB Drives at Woot.com

Mimoco USB drives have returned to Woot.com for a sale that ends on Monday. Yeah, I know – how many of these USB drives do you actually need, what with everything moving to the cloud. But at close to half off, you may want to check out them out. After all, even if you’re not buying for yourself, they’d make great stocking stuffers for your friends and family.

Mimoco has licenses for most of the top pop culture brands, including Star Wars, Star Trek, DC Comics, Transformers, G.I. JOE, and many more. I’m particularly fond of their versions of Admiral Ackbar, Storm Shadow, and Bruce Lee. They’ve even got a Stormtrooper that reveals Han Solo or Luke Skywalker when unmasked. Pretty cool, right?

Weekend Toy Run: Save up to 50% at Shop DC Entertainment’s 2nd Black Friday Sale

ShopDCEntertainment Black Friday Returns

I know it’s the holiday season and that we should expect sales, but I’m exhibiting my crotchety old man ways and hating on the overuse of terms like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the like. A couple weeks ago, I was at my front door screaming at the neighborhood kids to get off my lawn when I heard about Brown Thursday and Mattycollector’s 8 Day Cyber Monday Week that started on Tuesday, and nearly had an aneurysm. [/rant]

This weekend, you’ll be able to pick up a bunch of stuff from DC Collectibles at Shop DC Entertainment’s “Black Friday Returns!” sale. For example, the MAD Just-Us-League figures are back on sale for over half off. But there’s even more stuff – 337 items in total on sale, including action figures, busts, statues, phone cases, and clothing. The sale features DC merchandise from other partners too, including Mattel (Man of Steel and DC Unlimited stuff), Square Enix Play Arts Kai figures from Arkham, DC LEGO sets, and DC Mimobots from Mimoco, to name a few. There’s even the Hot Toys Camo Tumbler.

The best discounts are on the DC Collectibles stuff, as you might expect. I’m just trying to prep myself for the next couple of Black Fridays until Christmas (which thankfully falls on a Wednesday) is over. Bah humbug!

Mimobot Reveals Chewbacca (and C-3P0) MIMOBOT for San Diego Comic-Con

StarWars_Chewbacca_LTDED_MIMOBOT_w

It’s almost like getting two for one with the Chewbacca MIMOBOT announced for San Diego Comic-Con. That’s because he’s toting around a busted up Chewbacca, just like he did in The Empire Strikes Back, arguably the best Star Wars movie ever.

You can pre-order the Chewbacca MIMOBOT now. You flea-bitten furball! Only an overgrown mop-head like you would be stupid enough to…

May the Fourth Be With You – Limited Edition Mimoco Star Wars R2-A6 Astromech MIMOBOT Flash Drive

I’m still trying to forgive Mimoco for their exclusive Jar Jar Binks MIMOBOT, but here they go again with more prequel love on Star Wars Day. At least this time it’s a cute astromech droid.

3UP_R2A6_Photo_watermarkMimoco and Lucasfilm Announce Limited Edition R2-A6 MIMOBOT® USB Flash Drive
May the Fourth be with you this Star Wars™ Day!

Mimoco (www.mimoco.com), makers of the MIMOBOT® line of designer USB flash drives, in collaboration with Lucasfilm and in honor of the Star Wars fan favorite holiday May the Fourth Be With You, announce the R2-A6 MIMOBOT®. R2-A6, an astromech droid in the same family as R2-D2, is translated in the MIMOBOT’s stylistically illustrated flash drive form. Available in up to 128GB and USB 3.0 capabilities, the drive comes in a run of 1,000 limited edition hand-numbered units. The R2-A6 MIMOBOT drive also comes preloaded with bonus Mimory® and the MimoDesk® personalization suite of wallpapers, icons, and avatars.

R2-A6 is known as a good-luck charm to the Royal Naboo Security Forces and now, in MIMOBOT form and function, can be a positive omen for your data storage. The droid’s green and white color scheme is derivative in design and function of fellow mechanically-versed droid, R2-D2. Just as a proper astromech droid would be expected to perform, R2-A6 MIMOBOT allows documents, music, photos, and data to be shared, transported, and collected for its master. Just don’t expect it to repair a starfighter malfunction in our earthbound orbit!

“Luck is always a nice bonus when you are talking about technology,’” says Mimoco’s PR Gal Jessica Smiley. “It’s no coincidence that A6 is green, it has good memory juju written all over it.”

The R2-A6 MIMOBOT flash drive joins several other Star Wars MIMOBOT characters like fellow faithful droids R2-D2 and C-3PO. The limited edition R2 unit is now available at www.mimoco.com in a run of just 1,000 units.

Star Wars Prequel Trilogy Haters Beware – Jar Jar Binks MIMOBOT a Reality

SW_JarJarBinks_LTDED_MIMOBOT

Last year, Mimoco yanked the chains of Star Wars prequel trilogy haters by announcing the Jar Jar Binks MIMOBOT USB flash drive – as an April Fool’s Day joke. Fast forward to this year’s April Fool’s – prequel haters brace yourself – they’re really doing it. The Jar Jar Binks MIMOBOT is available on the Mimoco website in limited quantities – 500 to be precise.

The joke now is that some hardcore Star Wars collectors may find themselves in a quandary that would challenge even Yoda: pick up what is sure to be an extremely limited exclusive for their collections, or skip the most hated character in the Star Wars universe. To help you say no, if you get Jar Jar and install the accompanying software, you’ll get a dose of Jar Jar Binks sound bites every time you plug him into your computer. Yousa people gonna die.
