Hey what’s up? It’s Bill the action figure comics guy here. I just got my hands on the Extreme Sets Multiverse Collection Series 2 dioramas, and I must say I am very impressed (and very happy) with all of them. Now, as some of you may or may not know, I’ve been doing full length comics using action figures for about 900 years, (or maybe it’s more like 15-years), and I must say if Extreme Sets had been around back when I started it would have made my life a whole lot easier (and my comics look a whole lot better).
Hasbro held their Collector Preview yesterday (read our Toy Fair 2017: Hasbro Marvel Legends Report to get caught up) and this morning they shared their press pics for a bunch of their Marvel Legends products. They’ve included a lot of the retailer exclusives that were not available on the showroom floor.
Pictured above – the Toys R Us exclusive Marvel Legends 6-inch A-Force 6-pack, featuring She-Hulk, Lady Loki, Lady Sif, Monica Rambeau, Singularity, and Elsa Bloodstone.
Now get ready for some sensory overload – over 70 more official Hasbro Marvel Legends pics ahead!
What’s clear coming out of this year’s Hasbro Collector Preview is that the Marvel team’s decision to rebrand the Marvel Legends to tie to mass media has been a success. This year, Legends is being driven not only by three movie releases in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also by its extended TV properties on ABC and Netflix and several animated shows. The result is a healthy line-up that spans mass retail releases and exclusives for both traditional and online specialty retailers.
And what about those properties that still fall outside of Marvel Studios control? Hasbro is still finding a way to leverage them with comics-based figures.
I’ve been taking it easy while gearing up for Toy Fair in a couple of weeks, but Bill’s been productive. His latest action figure comic is a Spider-Man team-up with Daredevil as they battle with Hobgoblin, Kingpin, and the Constrictor over “The Disc.”
Be sure to check out the rest of Bill’s action figure comics here at AFP and at Bill’s Comics.
Bill hinted at a second holiday special and it’s here! Spider-Man teams up with the X-Men, so he can get Aunt May a gift for the holidays? ‘Twas the Fight Before Christmas!
