The Hasbro San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Pre-Show Giveaway – Day 5

Thanks to our friends in the Marvel, G.I. Joe, and Star Wars brand teams at Marvel and the good folks at Hunter PR, ActionFigurePics.com and TheFwoosh.com are pleased to be give our readers a chance to win one of the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con exclusives or other prizes. Through Tuesday next week, we’ll feature one or more prizes each day. Read on for instructions on how to enter to win.

For our final day of giveaways, we’ve got the Star Wars Bounty Hunters 2-Pack. This was previously available at Jedi Con in Dusseldorf, Germany, and will be reissued for Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando, Florida, in August.

While 4-Lom and Zuckuss are now quite well-known to fans, their proper names were initially a topic of considerable debate. When Kenner first produced the figures, the names somehow got reversed. But since these two bounty hunters were not identified in the film, the switch was not immediately noticed. When the mix-up was finally caught and corrected in 1989, Zuckuss and 4-Lom finally got back their rightful identities. In this exclusive set, we are paying homage to the first appearance of these bounty hunters that puzzled so many for years, with replicas of the original packaging-switched names and all!

  1. I didn’t even realize their names were wrong until recently. I still can’t look at the bug-eyed guy without calling 4-LOM. Love the figs!

  2. These bring back a lot of nostalgia for me. I remember just liking them because they both looked like bugs.

  3. I think this Zuckuss looks better than the Legacy Collection release. I hope Hasbro does more vintage inspired redecos.

  4. I love the new packaging on the vintage line. I’d love to add these to my collection of vintage figures they made a few years ago. I have a few signed by the actors who played them, like a vintage-style Lando signed by Billy Dee Williams & a vintage-style Boba Fett signed by Jeremy Bulloch.

  5. I really want these Vintage figures! 4LOM and Zuckuss will go great in my growing bounty hunters display! 🙂

  6. Two of my all-time favorite Star Wars characters! For some reason, I’ve always loved these two.

  7. Wow, that’s really cool. I never knew about the mixup. I seem to remember Obi Wan being called OB-1 on the packaging. Is that right or just a faulty memory? Thanks, Samuron!

  8. Used to love all things Star Wars as a kid then discovered the bendable joints of 3 3/4inch GI Joes. Rediscovering Star Wars all over again with the new articulation sculpts and these classic style backer cards but too broke to actually buy any. Maybe the force is with me and I’ll win these?!

  9. good ol’ nostalgia is what collecting is all about and original packaging is as nostalgic as it gets lol Star Wars FTW
