As usual, Diamond Select Toys is right on the heels of the major Marvel Comics events with its Marvel Minimates line. The Age of Ultron Minimates, with Ultron, Nick Fury, Iron Man, and Angela, will hit specialty retailers early next year. Toys R Us will also get an exclusive 2-pack of Wolverine and an Ultron drone around the same time.
I am still working through Age of Ultron, so I haven’t encountered Angela yet. Is this the same Angela we saw in Spawn?

The newest Marvel minimates box set is headed for the Age of Ultron!
Fear Itself. Secret Wars. Avengers vs. X-Men. Diamond Select Toys has a reputation for creating Minimates mini-figures for some of the biggest crossover events in Marvel Comics history. Now, they’re getting ready to do it again with the first-ever product based on Age of Ultron!
Robotic supervillain Ultron had all of the Marvel Universe under his metallic boot during the “Age of Ultron” event. Not only did that crossover give us a glimpse of an alternate world where every living species is an endangered one, it also gave the biggest heroes and villains of the Marvel U. some great new looks and introduced a new, familiar character to Marvel readers: the Heavenly warrior called Angela!
The newest Marvel Minimates four-pack will include the first-ever Minimate of Angela, as well as new Minimates of Iron Man, Nick Fury and Ultron in their “Age of Ultron” looks. Each two-inch mini-figure has 14 points of articulation, and includes a variety of interchangeable parts and accessories. Nick Fury will come with a jet-pack, Iron Man will have a removable helmet and Ultron will have six arms based on his appearance on the covers of the Age of Ultron series.
The box set will be available at comic shops and specialty stores in early 2014, but retailers will begin taking pre-orders later this month. And the set will be rounded out by a Toys “R” Us-exclusive two-pack of Age of Ultron Wolverine and a gold Ultron Drone which should also hit in early 2014.
