Square Enix Play Arts Kai Man of Steel Superman and General Zod Figures Revealed by BigBadToyStore

BBTS has provided the first pics of the upcoming Square Enix Play Arts Kai Superman and General Zod figures from Man of Steel on the BigBadToyStore Facebook page. What do you guys think? At $79.99 a pop, I think I’ll need to see these in person (and probably the movie too) before deciding if they’re must-haves for my collection.

These figures are expected to arrive in August this year. Man of Steel opens June 14, 2013.

Sideshow Celebrates Iron Man 3 with Hot Toys Iron Man Mark II Giveaway and Life-Sized Mark XLII

Sideshow Collectibles is celebrating the Iron Man 3 movie with a Hot Toys giveaway and the launch of the life-sized Mark 42 (for those of you who are Roman numeral challenged) statue. On the Iron Man 3 celebration page you’ll be able to sign up for their mailing list, which will let you know when you can pre-order the exclusive Hot Toys battle-damaged Mark VII armor from the Avengers line. In addition, you’ll be able to sign up for their giveaway of the Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 2 Armor Unleashed version – you know, this is the Iron Man armor that the Skrull-that-looks-like-Don-Cheadle (who replaced Rhodey in the second movie) stole to give to the US military.

The life-sized Iron Man Mark XLII by Beast Kingdom turned out a little more expensive than I thought it would. I had used the life-sized T-800 endoskeleton, which costs a mere $5,999.99, as a comp. But the Iron Man statue is clocking in at $8,499.99 – for that price it ought to include the Iron Babe standing next to it (but it doesn’t.) I suppose I’ll add it to the “if I win the lottery” list.

(NASDAQ: HAS) TRANSFORMERS brand is inviting fans of all ages around the globe to help create a new TRANSFORMERS character that will be forever added to the TRANSFORMERS world. In anticipation of the TRANSFORMERS’ brand 30^th anniversary in 2014, the “Fan Built Bot” Poll kicks off today, and will run through May 5^th on TRANSFORMERS.com/vote. Hasbro invites fans to vote daily to shape this new TRANSFORMERS character. The new character will be made into an action figure featured in the “Thrilling 30” line of toys to celebrate the anniversary.

Hasbro is giving kids and fans the opportunity to make the “Fan Built Bot” character with votes determining everything from being an AUTOBOT or DECEPTICON—to its vehicle or other mode, color, personality and more. Kids and fans are encouraged to vote daily! Also, to keep with the theme of the fans being the ones who really shape and create this new TRANSFORMERS character, Hasbro will also give fans a say in the naming of the new character. Happiest Place on Earth Hosts Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries Exhibit

If you can’t make the around the world flight to Hong Kong to see the Iron Man 3 Suit Up at Hysan Place exhibit, maybe you can check out something closer to home, at the Happiest Place on Earth, no less. Disneyland is temporarily home to the Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries exhibit. Much like Suit Up in Hong Kong, this show includes a life-sized Hall of Armor and a virtual exhibit where you can suit up as Iron Man – I wonder if it’s the same exhibit as the Hong Kong show.

The Disney show includes some memorabilia from the first two Iron Man movies, but it doesn’t include the showcase of Hot Toys Iron Man product that served as a scaled down companion to the life-sized Hall of Armor at the Hong Kong show. I’m wondering if a road trip is in order.
