2012 Was a pretty amazing year for toys. It was hard to narrow it down to one favorite figure for the year. A few contenders were the super-rad Castle Grayskullman from Master of the Universe Classics, and the Hasbro version of MP-10 Masterpiece Optimus Prime. But in the end, pure child-like excitement and fun won the day with my number one choice.

A lot of new properties popped up like the new Nickelodeon TMNT line. This line really surprised everyone, myself included. The four main turtles were perfectly articulated, masterfully sculpted, and insanely low priced. I never would have imagined in 2012 we could get a great figure like this for under $8. That is why my choice is the new Playmates Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Raphael.

I recently picked up the new Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shellraiser and had to snap a few quick pics. These kind of show off how this vehicle is practically a small playset for your figures, as you can find a place for each of them plus a bad guy and make a really nice display. The last pic shows just how large this thing is – it barely fit in my lightbox!

Playmates Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The fabulous green foursome is back! Playmates has returned from obscurity with their bread and butter, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This is something many were not sure would ever happen. Given the relatively lackluster performance of Playmates last big lines, Terminator Salvation and Star Trek, we wondered if Playmates was about to head the way of Kay*Bee and disappear forever. But fortunately for us, they did not.
