ThreeA Toys Invincible Iron Man Pre-Order on February 12

3A_Marvel_IronMan_Group_Ad_v002

The collaboration between 3A Toys and Marvel will see its first product, the 1/6 scale Invincible Iron Man, go up for pre-order in the evening on February 12 (at 8PM EST if they stick to the standard time) at Bambaland. Still no detail on price for either the four-pack or single figures. The Stark Industries Prototype colorway is 3AA exclusive on its own, but available to all in the four pack. And it looks like only the classic red and gold and the Silver Centurion colorways will make it to retailers down the line.

Seeing more of these pictures has me wondering how well the flexible “skin” over the arms and legs will look with the elbows and knees bent. For now, the best view is on the Stealth Iron Man – zoomed in I think you can see some folds. I suppose it’s a trade-off – it looks pretty sleek, but then again, a guy in an armored suit might be expected to have some visible joints.

Border Patrol: Marvel Legends by AC Custom Figures

This week, there’s a few Marvel Legends customs up by AC Custom Figures – I couldn’t pick just one to feature, so I decided to highlight all of them.

  • Marvel Legends Captain America – you may or may not like the ones we have up in our ML Cap vs Spidey Free Stuff Giveaway, but I think there’s no denying this one – there’s something so clean and appealing about it – it’s billed as an Olivetti-styled Cap to explain the larger physique – ends today Feb 04, 2014 19:00:42 PST
  • Marvel Legends Superior Spider-Man – again, if you’re not feeling the Superior Spidey in our giveaway, this previously-owned custom has more details that the official release omits, like the gauntlets and backpack – ends Feb 06, 2014 11:45:17 PST
  • Marvel Legends Magik – while I like this custom, what it really does is serve to remind me that the older Jean Grey body, while an upgrade to what came before it, is really more suitable for teenaged females – ends today Feb 04, 2014 19:04:37 PST

AFP Free Stuff Giveaway: Captain America vs. Spider-Man Marvel Legends Bundles

AFP Marvel Legends Captain America Spider-Man Free Stuff Giveaway

Super Bowl Sunday brought us a clash of the titans. You know I’m not talking about the Seahawks and the Broncos. No, it was all about Captain America vs Spider-Man, and their respective teaser trailers aired during the snooze of a game. To commemorate the continuation of hype for the latest installments in the two Marvel franchises, we’re giving away three Marvel Legends gift bundles, each with a Captain America and Spider-Man figure from the latest Marvel Legends waves.

Yes, there will be three random winners this time, and it’s incredibly easy to enter. And if you’re already a fan of the AFP Facebook page, follow the AFP Twitter account, or +1’d the AFP Google+ page, you can temporarily stop being our friends (it’s ok, we’ll forgive you!) and then re-up using the contest widget, for those extra shots at winning this giveaway. So spread the word and good luck!

Weekend Toy Run: Transformers Age of Extinction First Edition Optimus Prime on Amazon

TRANSFORMERS FIRST EDITION OPTIMUS PRIME Open Package

The next installment in the Transformers movie franchise, Age of Extinction, isn’t due to hit theaters until late in June. The normal shelf date for movie toys is usually 3 months in advance of the opening. However, since the movie got a teaser spot in the Big (maybe not so fitting a descriptor this year) Game, Hasbro has jumped on board with something novel. Teaming up with Amazon, they launched the Transformers HQ on Amazon immediately following the airing of the teaser, and are offering up the first edition Transformers: Age of Extinction Optimus Prime.

That’s two Transformers exclusives with two different retailers launched on 2/2 – the first we covered was the Year of the Horse Starscream that’s exclusive to TRU. I checked the Toys R Us website for Starscream – the exclusive isn’t available online yet, but you might want to keep checking.
