Mattel Announces San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive DC Universe Classic TV Series Batusi Batman

It’s actually a re-announcement, for those of you paying attention, since Warner Bros. had introduced the Batusi Batman as part of a licensing launch announcement at Meltdown Comics back near the end of March. Since I wasn’t paying attention back then, the re-announcement suits me just fine. I am curious about the “internal mechanism” of the figure – is this some kind of action feature in the torso? I’ll have to look back at my earlier TV series Batman pics to see if the regular figures have ab articulation. (Yes, they have ab crunches.)

Mattel also introduced a classic TV series Catwoman Barbie and a Hot Wheels A-Team van. Holy nostalgia, Batman!

BATMAN Classic TV Series Batman™ Batusi Batman™

It’s the dance craze that swept the nation! For the first time ever, this Batusi Batman™ figure recreates the iconic dance from the BATMAN Classic TV series! Sculpted with authentic likeness and featuring a fabric cape, this figure has unique articulation and an internal mechanism that allows it to perform the Batusi. Is NECA Owning 1/4 Scale? Reveals Man of Steel Superman Figure

We just saw the tweaks NECA is making to their 18-inch Adam West Batman, and they’ve now released a preview of their upcoming quarter scale Henry Cavill Superman from Man of Steel. While I’m not as taken with the likeness on this figure as I am with the one on Mattel’s Man of Steel Movie Masters, nevertheless I am thoroughly impressed with the rest of the sculpt and the amount of articulation (30+ points!) we’re seeing in a figure this size. I imagine that this figure will see tweaks, just like the Adam West Batman did, so I’m not too concerned about the likeness at this point. NECA says this massive 18-inch+ Man of Steel figure is due out in July.

NECA Teases Upgrades to the Quarter Scale Adam West Batman – Burt Ward Robin in the Works?

NECA teased some upgrades to the 18-inch Adam West Batman that already looked impressive when we saw it at Toy Fair. In addition to some tweaks to the head sculpt, it looks like Bats will come with Batusi hands and fists. And could it be? Is that a Burt Ward Robin head sculpt at his feet? Also, you’ve gotta love the kitbashes the guys in the studio have come up with. (Click on the image for the full view.)

Mattel Announces San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive DC Universe Club Infinite Earths New 52 Shazam

I’m not quite sure why Mattel went with the “Club Infinite Earths” moniker for their second DC Universe exclusive for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (the first being the Man of Steel: Superman vs. General Zod 2-pack). Since Club Infinite Earths is the MattyCollector subscription that is targeted for the more obscure collector-oriented choices, it seems like this New 52 Shazam exclusive would fit better with the DC Unlimited branding that has focused on the New 52 and the Injustice video game more than anything else. Mattel had the copyright issue with the Captain Marvel name when they released his classic comic look in the DC Universe Classics line. I haven’t read any New 52 with Shazam in it – is Shazam his name in the comics now, or is Mattel still towing that copyright line?

The second exclusive announced today was the Hot Wheels Atari Beach Bomb with an old school Asteroids deco. It comes in packaging that looks like an old video game cabinet. I miss the 80’s!

Spy Monkey Creations New Weaponeers of Monkaa Figures and Weapons Packs Available Now

The Spy Monkey Creations Weaponeers of Monkaa line has some new additions today, with the introduction of the Bloodlust Series. The series introduces new colorways for Umbreus and the Gohlem as well as upping the number of Glyos-compatible parts that comes with each figure. In addition, they have announced the availability of two new obsidian weapons packs. These Glyos-compatible packs not only work with the Weaponeers, they also fit most 1/12 scale action figure lines.

The Bloodlust Series and the new weapons packs are available now at the Spy Monkey Creations online store.
