Take 25% Off Your Entire Order at the MarvelStore.com – Today Only!

I’m trying to wrap up Comic-Con by getting some exclusives for Talyn (no luck so far, sorry buddy), so I haven’t had the chance to see what kind of items are up for grabs, but 25% off at the MarvelStore.com with free shipping over $50 sounds like a pretty good deal. When I’ve browsed there in the past, their toys had a little premium on them, but with this discount they’d be more reasonable – they usually have Marvel Select and Marvel Minimates there. They usually also have cool t-shirts, which are often on sale already.

The MARVELPAL code expires today, so check it out, and make yours Marvel!

Win Your Custom G.I. JOE Figure from Hasbro – buildagijoe.com

If you’d give an arm or a leg to have Hasbro make a G.I. JOE figure of your own creation, then you should check out this promotion for the G.I. JOE: Retaliation movie. Visit buildagijoe.com and you can design your own character and give him or her a name and specialty – then submit. Hasbro will pick one submission at random and send the winner a customized figure based on their design. Five runners-up will win a Blu-Ray of the G.I. JOE: Retaliation movie.

Only one entry per email address is allowed. So I will need to choose between Bedtime Cobra Commander, Mistress Badonkadonk, and Mullet McGee. Who would be your pick?

Win a Set of Star Trek Select Kirk and Spock Figures from Topless Robot

Topless Robot has a giveaway underway for the first two Star Trek Select figures – Captain James T. Kirk (with Khaaaaan!) and Commander Spock. And all you have to do is suggest scenes for future Star Trek Select figures and a plot for the third Star Trek movie, sans J.J. Abrams.

You know I’m a fan of these. Now it’s time to show me that you are. Because in addition to sending me a set of the first two figures in their new diorama figure line, Diamond is going to send a pair to one of you as well.

The set of Kirk/Khan and Spock/Horta retails for just shy of $50, so I’m going to make you work for it just a little bit.

Catch the Daily SDCC Contests at Sideshow Collectibles – Hot Toys Thor is Up Now

Sideshow is always one of my favorite booths at San Diego Comic-Con, and now I’ll be stopping by the Sideshow Collectibles website every day – with a new contest every day in July, often for 1/6 scale figures, there’ll be a lot of loot up for grabs. The latest contest I saw was for a Hot Toys Thor – the second version from the Avengers movie. Good luck!

Hey Sideshow friends!

Don’t forget, we’re doing a new giveaway everyday this month to celebrate ‎#ComicCon!

Buy this Green Lantern Hal Jordan Even If You Hated the Movie

Green Lantern Movie Masters Maskless Hal Jordan Figure 1 Green Lantern Movie Masters Maskless Hal Jordan Figure 2 Green Lantern Movie Masters Maskless Hal Jordan Figure 3 Green Lantern Movie Masters Maskless Hal Jordan Figure 4

While we’re on the subject of comic book superhero movies, I wanted a whole lot more out of DC’s Green Lantern. The movie was responsible for a lot of this, but I guess I could say the same about the Green Lantern Movie Masters action figure line from Mattel. While I haven’t collected that line, I will probably pick up the GL Movie Masters Maskless Hal Jordan from Amazon – Prime prices start under $12 from a number of sellers.

I think it’s a decent representation of the Ryan Reynolds GL from the movie – but on top of that, it’s got some great extras. First, you get Bzzd, the diminutive GL that first appeared in a Justice League of America comic way back when and then featured prominently with the GL Corps during the Sinestro Corps War just a couple years ago. Bzzd will fit in great with your DC Universe Classics Green Lantern Corps if you don’t have a movie GL Corps. And then you get the Power Ring from the movie, which at size 11 will fit most adult hands.

If I could rewrite movie history, I’d switch out Green Lantern with Deadpool for Ryan Reynolds’ filmography – maybe some enterprising customizer can take this figure and make a Deadpool out of it.
