NYCC 2012: LEGO to Reveal More of The Hobbit on Friday

I hear the sound of VeeBee’s wallet emptying. These new LEGO sets from The Hobbit look like they will be awesome.

Following the first set reveal of the LEGO The Hobbit™ collection at San Diego Comic-Con, LEGO Systems will debut more LEGO stops on the “unexpected journey”, showing fans two additional LEGO The Hobbit sets on Friday, October 12th in advance of the entire collection launching this December. An exclusive minifigure giveaway will take place Friday and Saturday at 4 p.m.

Info on two sets we’re revealing on Friday:

  • Riddles for The Ring- Features Bilbo & Gollum in the cave. $9.99, 105 pieces
  • The Goblin King Battle – Features Dori, Nori, Ori, Gandalf, Goblins, Scribe and Goblin King in Goblintown. $99.99, 841 pieces

NYCC 2012: LEGO Announces Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Exclusive Giveaways

LEGO is bringing another fan favorite license to builders with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, based on the Nickelodeon series. TMNT joins The Hobbit, Super Heroes (both DC and Marvel), and the long-standing Star Wars lines in 2013. I tried to resist, but here it is… Cowabunga!

Custom LEGO Rivendell from Lord of the Rings Weighs More than Samwise Gamgee

At 120 pounds and 40 inches long, this custom built Rivendell outweighs that stupid fat Hobbit and would be nearly as tall as him if stood up. Lego Minifigures Series 6 Part 1

2011 was the year I rekindled my childhood love of Lego – it started with a Harry Potter Hagrid’s Hut set that I found on sale, and since then I’ve been picking up sets from their different sub-lines. One of the things I enjoy the most are the minifigures that come with the sets, so it was a no-brainer that I started picking up their Lego Minifigures series as well.
