Hasbro held its Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con today. During the panel, Hasbro confirmed that 2013 will be the year of the mini-Build-a-Figure, with Hit-Monkey being the first. They also teased that there would be one Iron Man Legends wave, with a normal oversized BAF.
Hasbro revealed two more Marvel Legends figures from the first wave planned for 2013. If you are not familiar with Hit-Monkey, he was introduced by Daniel Way during his Deadpool run, and had a one-shot and 3-issue limited series around the same time a couple years back. Savage She-Hulk (the Lyra version) will be a swap-out for Red She-Hulk.

Hasbro added Hyperion to its Marvel Legends display for wave 1 in 2013. Hyperion (who will be a swapout with Sentry a la Thunderball and Piledriver) is built on a new base body that falls between the Nick Fury / Ka-Zar / Punisher body and Warpath / Thunderball / Piledriver body types. That will fill in a medium heavy build in the lineup that can be reused for guys like Luke Cage. In the same vein, the Red She-Hulk is on a new base body for the larger female characters, like Titania.

There was some buzz around the Hasbro booth that Marvel Universe would be slowing down at retail – of course this was all speculation from Marvel fans at San Diego Comic-Con, and not confirmed or denied by any Hasbro folks (they were scarce at Preview Night). It’s tough for me to judge how much new stuff they did have out, so let me know what you think.
