Get Your Marvel Legends Fix with Spider-Man Legends Variants

Hasbro has had some challenges getting their Marvel Legends variants from last year to retail, and this year we’re seeing limited distribution of the variants for both the Captain America and Spider-Man waves of Marvel Legends Infinite Series. But I’ve just ordered the “wave 2” variants for the Spidey line – Toxin, Spider-Girl, and Boomerang are all in stock at Amazon. Happy shopping!

May the Fourth Be With You at Sideshow Collectibles

This Sunday is May the 4th, a date fans have designated Star Wars Day – that despite being a fan myself somehow had no idea about until last year. This year, Sideshow Collectibles is back with a May the Fourth celebration that a smattering of reveals, giveaways, and a $25 coupon code. If you are a Boba Fett fan, their first reveal is a life-sized Boba Fett – more reveals follow throughout the weekend. Following the life-sized theme, their Star Wars giveaway is for the upcoming Darth Vader life-sized bust.

If you don’t have the GNP of a small country at your disposal, Sideshow is also giving away a $25 gift code – it’s eligible for a lot of products and is good for the month of May. And though not directly tied to their Star Wars Day celebration, they’ve also got giveaways in progress for their upcoming 1/6 scale R2-D2 and Daredevil Premium Format Figure. May the Fourth be with you!

WO3A_0000_Portal2

We’re on a little Spring Break this week but news of a 3A Toys Portal 2 sale had me drop in for an early edition of Weekend Toy run. The 1/6 scale Portal 2 ATLAS and P-body are on sale at Entertainment Earth for $150 each, with free shipping, today only. This is a damn good deal – they are listed at $199.99 regularly, and this sale price even beats the one that was available to 3AA members when they were up for pre-order directly from 3A back in May last year.

The super-articulated figures stand 11 and 12 inches tall and feature LED lights (with a boot-up sequence), handheld Portal devices, and removable torso sections. If you’re a Portal fan and missed these the first time around, here’s your chance!

Get Your Personalized S.H.I.E.L.D. ID Card for Free!

Do you remember the eFX SHIELD Badge and ID Card from NYCC? One of the perks of getting the NYCC exclusive was a personalized SHIELD ID card – all you had to do was send in your picture and your name / vital stats and BAM, SHIELD agent with a card to prove it. Of course, you had to buy the SHIELD badge too, and that was $50. Now Cafepress has gone even further – they are offering a customized SHIELD ID card for free as a promotion for Captain America: The Winter Soldier! Or, nearly free, as it were. You’ve still got to pay the shipping, which is a a buck and change or more depending on where you are. It’s pretty simple – you just upload your photo and enter your info.

This version of the SHIELD ID has a red border, while the ID cards featured on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. show are gold. But that doesn’t matter to you, right? I mean, free is free! Today’s a great day to pick one up – Cafepress is also running promotions this weekend on all their customized gear. Now if only someone would produce customized HYDRA ID cards, I’d be set.
