First Look – DC Universe Classics 12 and Masters of the Universe Classics Battle Cat – Action Figure Times

Captain Collector gets added to “the list”* now that he has Copperhead, Mary Batson, the glow-in-the-dark variant of the Spectre, Desaad, and the associated parts from the C&C Darkseid from DC Universe Classics 12, and Battle Cat from Masters of the Universe Classics.

*Note: “the list” is of nice guys whom I can’t bring myself to hate even though they already have the toys that I want. 😀

DCUC 12 AND MOTUC BATTLE CAT SNEEK PEEK!

With DC Universe Classics series 11 now shipping from Mattycollector.com, series 12 is just around the corner. Today, it is my priveledge [sic] to be able to bring you a sneek peek at some of the outstanding figures from this series, as well as the new cardback design for 2010.

Masters of the Universe Classics Battle Cat

This is one of my very most anticipated figures period shown at Comicon 2009. My expectations were extremely high based on what I saw, so I expected to be a little dissapointed [sic] by the final product. Suffice it to say, my expectations were shattered, and the final toy is much better than I could have hoped for.

Marvel Universe Wave 6 – Warpath, Jean Grey, Sunfire, and Vision

Marvel Universe Wave 6 - Vision, Warpath, Jean Grey, and Sunfire

Marvel Universe Wave 6 is officially the first wave for 2010, but with sell-through on the Marvel Universe line strong, it’s been showing up at bricks and mortar retailers for several weeks now.  If this wave, I only picked up four of the six figures, passing on the House of M Spider-Man and the training uniform Wolverine.

Although I think the body they used for Spider-Man, originally from the black costumed Spidey, is superior to the one that’s been reused several times already for all the other Spideys, I just don’t need this variant.  And for Wolvie, I’ll wait for the running change on the head sculpt that should be a lot better than the initial head.

Here’s the packaging, featuring the new HAMMER and Norman Osborne themed artwork by Mike Deodato.

The Twelve Days of a DC and Marvel X-mas

Brent (aka MiAmego on the Fwoosh) put together these pictorial versions of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” using action figures from a bunch of DC and Marvel licenses.  It’s pretty amazing just how many figures he fit into these shots.

Check out more of Brent’s pictures at Toon A Net – some top notch photography there.

Merry X-mas to all!

Back to the Future Minimates DeLorean Press Pics

Alright, I’m impressed.  Art Asylum got working gull-wing doors on this Minimates version of the Back to the Future DeLorean.  Now all we need are Marty and Doc in their radiation suits and a Minimates version of Einstein!

This Isn’t Your Grandfather’s Time Machine!

Seeing a Minimate version of the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future really made my year, especially considering how for a while I thought we might not see any more Back to the Future Minimates. So to celebrate the 25th anniversary of one of the greatest movies of all time, I’m very happy with our Minimate Vehicle. Two versions of this little guy are coming to stores and we’ve gotten lots of requests to show more photography – so here’s the “clean” version for Toys R Us! To find out what Minimates are coming with each of these time-traveling tin cans – check out the January shipping issue of Toy Fare magazine.
