Hot Toys Batman DX Special Features Videos

The Hot Toys Batman DX is now available in the Hong Kong market, and to support his release Hot Toys has updated their YouTube channel with videos that demonstrate the special features of the figure, including PERS (the Parallel Eyeball Rolling System), the light up feature for the sonar eyes, the interchangeable faces, and the transformable gun.

I’m not clear when this figure will actually be released – my pre-order still says 2Q 2010, but have heard some rumblings that it will be out sooner.

Mattel Avatar 3.75-Inch Line

James Cameron’s Avatar is opening today, and JonWesley has shared some great pics of his 3.75-inch Avatar collection from Mattel. I’m not collecting these, but think they’re a pretty good effort from Mattel, particularly in the vehicle department.

Let me know how you like the movie!

Bandai SH Figuarts Piccolo

SH Figurarts Dragonball Z Piccolo
SH Figurarts Dragonball Z Piccolo

Action figure collecting can be a slippery slope.  I’m already down the path of collecting premium format 1/6 figures, but if I weren’t, this figure of Dragonball Z’s Piccolo from Bandai’s Figuarts line would be a gateway drug.  At just under 6 inches, it’s in my collection’s sweet spot, and the articulation is amazingly functional.  The downside – this figure is not being distributed in the United States, so if you want to add this to your collection, you’ll be paying import prices.

I haven’t taken the plunge yet, but luckily my friend Blue Devil from north of the border has, and has shared these pictures with us.  First, he’s sent pics of the package and contents.

Marvel Select Deadpool Painted Prototype Pic

As a Marvel Legends collector, I’m one of the people who wish that DST would stick to larger figures in Marvel Select who would complement my collection.  But I do recognize that Marvel Select collectors need love too – and I like this Deadpool more now that I’ve seen it with paint.  Ball-jointed hips and double-knees help too, and I wonder if those are elbros (ball-jointed elbows a la Hasbro) too.

Yeah, it’s getting late and the jokes are getting cornier – what can I say? To make up for it, I’ll let you see the approved paint deco for the Marvel Select Deadpool figure. I don’t have any pictures handy for the weapons or the unmasked head, but take my word for it when I say they complete the figure perfectly.
