Hot Toys Inglourious Basterds Lt. Aldo Raine Press Pics

I wouldn’t call myself a Quentin Tarantino fanatic, but I have liked all of his movies that I’ve seen – I just haven’t seen Inglourious Basterds yet.  Should I?

In any case, Hot Toys just released a bunch of pics of Brad Pitt as Lt. Aldo Raine.  What do you guys think?

DC Universe Classics Collect and Connect Darkseid Scale Info from Four Horsemen

Here’s another item that I think will be filed in the “things must be pretty good if we’re complaining about this” category. The Four Horsemen are explaining why it actually makes sense that the DC Universe Classics Collect and Connect Darkseid is as large as he is.

I know the Horsemen mentioned Super Powers, but we all know that the reason Darkseid is in this line is because of his appearance in Cosmic Odyssey. 😉

Four Horsemen comment on Darkseid’s scale

This in from the boys in NJ:

Hi everybody, we’ve seen a lot of arguing and confusion surrounding the scale and size of the recently released Darkseid C&C figure. We thought that it might be helpful if we gave you guys some insight into where we came up with the final height of the figure. Darkseid’s classic height has always been listed at 7’6″. (Of course the modern version is listed as much bigger, but most fans have been vocal about getting the classic proportions.) The average DCUC figure is not 6″, but actually 6 and 3/8 inches tall. Proportionally the perfect height for a Darkseid figure representing 7’6″ is exactly 8″. We decided to use official stats since he has been drawn so many different ways over the years. (Even Jack Kirby’s depictions vary drastically from panel to panel!)

On a further note the Super Powers version is 5.5″ versus a standard hero height of 4.5″. Proportionately scaled, our figure is actually a little smaller than he should be to match the Super Powers size difference. Of course these guys are comic book characters, so what would any discussion be without a little debate, but we thought you might like a little insight into how we came up with our version.

Diamond Select Toys Reveals Two Iron Man 2 Minimates Assortments

I’m trying not to get too hyped for Iron Man 2 this summer, so I won’t be digging too deep on this reveal of five new non-Iron Man armors.  And who ever thought we’d be getting Minimates of Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan?  And is Happy holding a briefcase containing the Iron Man armor?  I wonder if that thing opens up.  Too cool.

Iron Man 2 Minimates – The Reveal!

Fans all over the world are gearing up for Marvel Studios’ next sure-fire blockbuster Iron Man 2 and at Diamond Select Toys we are excited to reveal details surrounding our previously Top Secret Iron Man 2 Minimates!  Due in stores this March, two new assortments of Minimates are sure to thrill fans of all ages!

No caption. While one particular high-flying armor-clad character will remain hidden until the March release date, we can now reveal the full contents of our upcoming Marvel Minimates Series 35 Assortment and Iron Man 2 Single Pack Minimates Display.  Rounding out the cast of Series 35 is the high-tech army builder paired with Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan – Hammer Industries’ Hammer Drone!  Glimpsed only briefly in the Iron Man 2 trailer, not much is known about the Hammer Drones – except that Iron Man and War Machine will apparently square off against an entire squad of them at some point during the film.

The biggest reveal comes in the form of our Iron Man 2 Single Pack Minimates Display, a special set of individually boxed Iron Man 2 Minimates limited to only 500 cases.  This set was under complete lockdown, however now we can reveal the full contents!

Each display will include 12 individually packaged Iron Man 2 Minimates, including:

  • Air Assault Drone
  • Ground Assault Drone
  • Sea Assault Drone
  • Tactical Assault Drone

Plus limited short-packs found in every case featuring:

Styled after the four branches of the US Military, exact how these high-powered armors will come to exist and what their creation means for Iron Man remains to be seen – but we can’t wait to find out!  Retailers can still order this limited set as part of their January 2010 Previews orders, so if  you want these Iron Man 2 exclusives to become a part of your collection make sure you let them know before it’s too late!
