DC Collectibles Reveals DC Comics Designer Greg Capullo Riddler

DC Collectibles has been playing the Spoiler Alert game over the past week, and have revealed the upcoming Riddler figure from the first series of the DC Comics Designer Action Figures line. This one was a tough, but some folks had it guessed from the first teaser.

The first series, based on the designs of Greg Capullo from Batman, is due out in April and May next year. Since this is a guessing game, any ideas about the second series – which book and designer do you think DC Collectibles will feature next?

Masters of the Universe Classics Horde Troopers and Mantenna Headline Mattycollector October Sale

Mattycollector October Sale

The October sale date for Mattycollector is here (here’s the bundle page for October), and it’s a big hit to your wallet if you’re a Club Eternia and Club Infinite Earths subscriber. For Masters of the Universe Classics, Mantenna and Lord Dactus double up for the monthly, as the September figure was pushed back. On top of that you’ve got the Horde Troopers 2-pack. The Weapons Pak is optional, but another $20 if you want recolored accessories and Kowl. Then there’s Nepthu (who?) for the Club Filmation figure. For DC Universe Classics, it’s Ocean Master.

Early Access is on right now. Merman was supposed to be up, but all I see is a sold-out Hordak. Black Mask, Lead, and the Weapons Pak are still available.

Weekend Toy Run: Marvel Universe Iron Man 3 Hall of Armor 6-Pack

Iron Man 3 Marvel Hall of Armor Collection Action Figure 1 Iron Man 3 Marvel Hall of Armor Collection Action Figure 2

Amidst all this diecast Iron Man goodness from Play Imaginative, let’s not forget that there’s already a line of Iron Man action figures that could satisfy your urge to build a hall of armor. Sure, the Marvel Universe figures from Hasbro are all plastic, not diecast, but that combined with their smaller size means they’re a lot easier on the wallet, too.

However, this six-pack of figures has been selling in the neighborhood of $100 on the secondary market – while 4 of the figures are repacks with the ARC Reactor glow, the Mark 42 and the Tony Stark figures are exclusive to the set. And the only other way to get a Mark 42 in this scale is via the Assemblers line, which is not as articulated. Luckily, the set is now more abundant, and Amazon has it on sale.

Note: Just saw that Wal-Mart has the Iron Man 3 Hall of Armor for the same price, but you have to get to $50 to get free shipping.

I did not have my real camera yesterday (well, I did, but I forgot my memory card). I have to go back to Play Imaginative, because they have a metric ton of Super Alloy Iron Man figures, in both 1/12 and 1/4 scale. You won’t understand the mind-blowing you’ll get until you see what a real House Party Protocol would be like with Play Imaginative.

Sadly, I failed in my mission to get a green-suited Heisenberg. Luckily, Axe Cop looks like a lot of fun.
