AFP Hasbro Marvel Q&A Roundup – 10/23/9

Here’s the latest Q&A from the Hasbro Marvel team. Since we were all about Marvel Legends last time, this go around we focused on Marvel Universe.  Thanks guys!

1. What’s the latest on the deluxe Galactus that you showed at San Diego Comic-Con? Does it have a home at retail yet? Will it be released under the Gigantic Battles line, and if so, are you planning to release it with a companion 3.75-inch figure? What other characters in this size are you considering?

Galactus is ready to make a statement: “Humans, prepare yourselves!”

2. We were curious about the extras that come with the Marvel Universe figures. Are there hidden nuggets in the memos that come with the figure? If so, any clues?

Ahhh… interesting question. The memos are a very important part to the story element of the MU line. We encourage you to read these important documents closely.

3. We love the multi-pack products like Marvel Universe Secret Wars, because it seems like it gives the opportunity to provide more villains and second-tier characters, as well as extras like comic books. What plans do you have to continue this after Secret Wars? Any plans to offer multi-figure Marvel Universe packs (2,3,or 5) of the same army builder (as the Joe team does occasionally)?

We do plan to continue offering theme team packs as well as items like the comic packs moving forward.

Here’s the round-up of other Marvel Q&A from other toy sites: (links to be added as they come up)

World Wrestling Entertainment

1. Nice to see some info and pics of the upcoming WWE lines. Can you highlight the differences between the Basic and Elite Collections? Are the main differences in the amount of articulation? Are the scales compatible between both lines?

AFP’s Hasbro Marvel Q&A Roundup – 9/25/9

Here’s the latest Q&A from the Hasbro Marvel team. Thanks guys!

There’s some promising tidbits about Marvel figures in the 6-inch scale. We did have some questions about Marvel Universe, but they limited their answers to our first three questions.

1. There are a lot of Marvel Legends prototypes that have been developed by Hasbro over the years (mostly shown for “poll” purposes) that as of yet don’t seem to have a planned release. Are these poll non-winners off of the table (aside from whatever three make the cut in addition to the fan choice voting)? What would be the most effective way for fans and collectors to let it be known that they want to see these figures produced? And when will you be sharing the Hasbro picks for the upcoming 2-packs?

(763x1024).jpgML Fan Choice - Ms. Marvel 2 (764x1024).jpgML Fan Choice - Warpath (762x1024).jpgML Fan Choice - McGuinness Hulk (768x1024).jpgML Fan Choice - Fantomex 2 (763x1024).jpgML Fan Choice - The Hood 2 (767x1024).jpgML Fan Choice - Havok 2 (769x1024).jpgML Fan Choice - Madrox 2 (770x1024).jpgML Fan Choice - Brother Voodoo 2 (768x1024).jpgML Fan Choice - Paper Bag Spidey (1024x769).jpgML Fan Choice - Constrictor (1024x768).jpg

All of the figures shown could be used for potential future releases, so they are not off the table. Fans can let us know character preference via the boards or sites by publishing a ranking of these characters. This could help to inform future development. The 2 packs are planned to be revealed in early 2010.

AFP’s Hasbro G.I. JOE Q&A – 9/19/9 and Pics

It’s been a few months since Hasbro’s answered any of our G.I. Joe questions, and in this round we still only received answers for two out of our three questions (submitted by Ray from the Fwoosh.)  But they make up for it by sending along hi-res pics of upcoming figures, including Target and Wal-Mart exclusives.

Update – the Hasbro PR team has sent over the answer to our first question.

1. Would it be possible to get pictures from the JoeCon slide shows? A lot of the pictures of the stuff from the JoeCon slide shows are hard to see and it be great if we could see nice quality versions of what was shown. They do this with Hasbro Star Wars con presentations, why not with Joe as well?

We really enjoy giving GI Joe fans who attend the conventions a sneak peek of the upcoming line at forums such as JoeCon, ComicCon and Toy Fair, however we prefer to distribute images when they more accurately reflect final production.

2. There’s some debate with Night Adder figure, is he supposed to have African American skin or is he wearing black spandex? Cause it would be strange to have tattoo’s on spandex. Plus his picture on the card art makes it look like he’s supposed to have African American skin tone. Is this a factory flaw and will it be corrected, or is it on purpose?

Night Adder is meant to be of African decent. His arms and torso are meant to be his skin covered with tattoos.

3. We’ve seen leaked pictures of a Python Patrol Televiper, and word was from JoeCon it’s probably nixed. Is there any chance of releasing it in the original Televiper color scheme? Since it has corrected more accurate body than the one came with the flight pod. Plus, the Televiper needs his gear, it’s very iconic and essential – you can’t have a communications trooper with out communication gear.

Unfortunately, there are no plans at this time.

And here’s the pictures:
