DC Collectibles Gives Us a Closer Look at Latest Reveals, Including Batman: The Animated Series

Batman The Animated Series

Here’s a closer look at the recent video reveals from DC Collectibles, including the Poison Ivy statue, Cyborg, Stargirl, and the rest of wave 1 and 2 of Batman: The Animated Series.

Now that we’ve got pictures of the latest reveal, Man-Bat, I can see why people have been commenting on the limited articulation of the figure relative to the rest. Seeing as how awkwardly proportioned the character is in the knees, elbows, and ankles, I’m not sure how they could articulate the figure without it collapsing under its own weight all the time. What do you guys think?

Batman The Animated Series 1 and 2 Reveals - MTV.com

We’ve been oooohing and aaahing over the new line of 6-inch super-articulated figures coming from DC Collectibles for Batman: The Animated Series later this year. We’d previously seen the first wave, with Batman and Catwoman in detail and Two-Face and Mr. Freeze in digital sculpt form. In the latest reveal, MTV.com posted color pics of Two-Face and Mr. Freeze, and revealed three of the four figures coming in wave two. The fourth figure will be revealed by DC Collectibles on Friday.

The Gentle Giant-sculpted figures are due out near the end of the year. Wave one had been previously scheduled for a November release, and wave two is to follow on its heels in December. Any guesses who the final figure in wave two will be?

Nothing New in Mattycollector’s Early Access for May; Scorpia and Battle Lion Arrive Tomorrow

Mattycollector May 2014 Sale

Club Eternia subscribers double up with the Masters of the Universe Classics Scorpia and Battle Lion this month. Inexplicably, those figures are not available through Early Access, which should be open now with a lackluster offering of has-beens: Elongated Man and Saint Walker from DC Universe Classics and Octavia and Netossa from Masters.

All access, which adds Scorpia and Battle Lion back into the mix, opens up tomorrow at 9AM PST.

Hot Toys (Finally) Reveals Falcon from Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Hot Toys Captain America The Winter Soldier Falcon 01

Hot Toys took their time revealing the last of the four major characters from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. We’ve seen a couple versions of Captain America, an updated Black Widow, and the title character, the Winter Soldier. Now, weeks after the movie’s opening, we’re finally getting a look at the Falcon. Hot Toys posted a couple of Falcon teaser shots at the end of last week, but here’s the full deal.

I think they did a bang-up job with the Ultimates-inspired costume – the wings, the military garb, and the goggles all look spot-on. I’m having a tougher time matching up Anthony Mackie with the head sculpt. It does look like him from some angles, but I think there’s something off with the shape of his forehead that’s throwing it from other angles. We’ll see if Hot Toys reworks it while it goes through production, like they have with so many other figures.
