Hot Toys Iron Man Tony Stark Mech Test Version Pics

I don’t know if this is what Hot Toys was talking about announcing on their Facebook page today, because from the tease I thought it would be an Iron Man 2 item.  But who really cares?  This new Tony Stark figure that was posted on the Sideshow Toys forum is really freaking cool.

Update – Hot Toys is also running a contest for an undisclosed prize.  All you have to do is list your top 3 Hot Toys products on their Facebook discussion before Tuesday 12/8 to be eligible.  Good luck!

Iron Man 2 Teases from Hot Toys and Diamond Select Toys

Iron Man 2Iron Man and War MachineMarvel Minimates 35 Iron Man 2 Teaser

Not sure if this is just coincidence or conspiracy, but both Hot Toys and Diamond Select Toys had teasers for Iron Man 2 today.  First, Hot Toys teased an IM2 announcement coming tomorrow with two posters from the movie.  I’d love to have the kind of cash to be a completist on their Iron Man 1/6 scale figures.  As it is, I’m getting the upcoming battle-damaged Mark III armor from the first movie and will probably be satisfied with that – but if they announce a War Machine I’m sunk.

Next, DST showed off Marvel Minimates Series 35 – an Iron Man 2 assortment – but still had three of the 7 Minimates in silhouette.  One of them is War Machine, another is another Iron Man armor – Mark VI? – and the last is an army builder,  so I’m guessing it’s not a ScarJo Black Widow.  If it is, that silhouette isn’t very flattering. 😉

Marvel Universe Gigantic Battles Giant Skrull, Captain America, Goliath, and Iron Man

Marvel Universe Gigantic Battles Giant Skrull, Captain America, Goliath, and Iron Man

I had hoped to do a joint review with Pablolobo from the Fwoosh, since he got his hands on the blue and yellow version of Goliath, but he has been too busy running marathons, pooping, and giving presentations (hopefully not about pooping) at work.

We’ll be taking a look today at the two Marvel Universe Gigantic Battles sets that are exclusive to Wal-Mart.  The first set features a Giant Skrull and the Bucky Barnes Captain America, and the second features Goliath and a pointy-headed Iron Man.  I liked the idea of these very much when they were first announced, because it’s another sign of strength for the Marvel Universe line, and could be a stepping stone to other large format toys, like vehicles and playsets.  Let’s see how these held up in production.
