  1. Are the lions that the figures fit inside the same ones that combine to form Voltron?? That would be awesome (and huge)!

  2. I really hope they listen to fan feedback on this one, for the price, that really needs a better paintjob. The white needs to be silver, they should have learned from every other company that’s made toys of Voltron. And not a hint of chrome?

  3. Why do people insist on “re-creating” my childhood heroes? The new Voltron looks stupid. Thanks Nickelodeon. G.I.Joe & Transformers movies were dumb and not at all like the continuity. I hear there is a Thundercats remake coming. Why? Why not show the old ones and re-market the original toys?

  4. I just looked up the 2012 Voltron Club Lion Force Subscription for the classic Voltron on the Matty Collector site:

The cost will be $290 plus shipping/taxes/fees! I knew it would be pricy, but this is ridiculous. I’d be willing to spend about half of that, maybe. Especially since I plan to let me kids actually play with it! My kids love the classic Volton (thanks, Netflix), and the new Voltron Force. I would love to buy them both versions, but unless they bring the price points down, like with versions not targeted at collectors, I won’t be able to buy either.

  5. Hey, Mike, I think it is great that they recreate the old heroes for a new generation. It keeps them fresh. I’ve seen all the old Transformers, G.I. Joes, Voltrons, etc. It’s nice to see some new takes on them. And you still can see the old shows on DVD, Netflix, The Hub, etc. I love that I get to watch the shows from my childhood with my kids, then they get their own version too. The new versions are hit or miss, but they are just kids shows, and they are still fun. Also, the new Voltron Force cartoon is much better than the original show. I remember loving Voltron, because he was this cool giant robot that kicked ass, but re-watching it now as an adult, the show was actually pretty poorly done, since they basically just lifted the cheap Japanese animation and crammed some poorly written English dialog on top. It makes G1 Transformers look polished by comparison.

  7. That new Voltron looks terrible. The new design is awful and looks like it is the female version of Voltron.

The old design is far superior and stronger looking. I agree that the paint job is weak and does not warrant the $290 price tag. There’s so much detail missing from the lions. Way-overpriced. The die-cast masterpiece Voltron released a few years ago was excellent.

Poor kids. Nowadays, Nickelodeon only provides dumbed-down programming for kids. Nickelodeon used to have quality programming. The new Voltron cartoon is lacking in entertainment value, memorability, and quality animation, and a terrible Voltron design.

  8. Gosh why does everyone hate the newer voltron. To me, It slimmer and looks great. Nicktoons is just using CGI animation like in Iron Man armored adventures. Some people respect that while others like Ash treat it like garbage. If you don’t like it , that’s your problem not ours.

  9. OK alot of ppl not like the new Voltron but it ok the new Voltron is setting the bar of u look at the old Voltron it was i good show and toy for that time when it aired the old Voltron was more blockey and was more robot the new Voltron is slimer and more cat like
