Marvel Select Ultron On Sale for $16 at Amazon

Marvel Select UltronIt wasn’t until Ninjak picked the Marvel Select Ultron as his Best of 2012 that I decided to get one for myself. I was still a little reluctant, as Marvel Select prices have crept up over the past few years and are now regularly around $25 where I live. They haven’t been much cheaper online – so I’ve been watching eBay.

One of the auctions I had on my watch list was ending tonight, and for a pretty decent price. It eventually closed at $12 and change – but with shipping came in at over $20. I didn’t bid, however. In the last minutes before the auction closed, I did a quick check on Amazon, and found it for $16 from an Amazon vendor with Prime.

Best deal I’ve seen on the MS Ultron yet! There’s only a few left from the vendor at this price, but even if you miss it, Amazon is keeping pace and selling it for just a quarter more, at $16.25.

Happy shopping!

Masters of the Universe Classics Whiplash Quick Pic

Masters of the Universe Classics - Whiplash

A current discussion on the Masters of the Universe Classics forum at the Fwoosh turned once again to the 200x heads. My new favorite Fwoosher, Balthus Dire, had this to say:

I think I’m probably the only person in the universe who doesn’t think the 200x Whiplash head looks bad on MOTUC Whiplash.

Not so, my friend! I love the 200x Whiplash head and was inspired to snap this quick pic. The rest of you who showed your love for the modern Whiplash – thank you too! And rest assured, more people like the 200x Whiplash head than you might think. And here’s the previous quick pics I snapped of Whiplash a couple years ago.

We need to encourage Mattel to start including more alternate heads with MOTUC again.

Indie Comics Action Figures – GBJR Toys and David Vonner Updates

Indie Spotlight by GBJR ToysDavid Vonner teaser

If you told me I’d one day be writing about Geoff Beckett and Dave Vonner in a single post I’d ask you what Bizarro world we’ve been transported to. Apparently, it’s one in which Bizarro does not exist, because both guys just might be making action figures from independent comics real soon.

Design Your Own Armor with Hasbro’s Iron Man 3 “Iron Assemblers” Action Figures

A2973 War Machine

Tony Stark has nothing on you – with Hasbro’s upcoming Iron Assemblers line from Iron Man 3, you’ll have the ability to design your own Iron Man armors for a completely customized armory. You may have seen Hasbro’s announcement of the new line at USAToday.com – they’ve followed it up with these pics and the official press release. I’m glad to see these are 3.75-inches – the USA Today piece listed a confusing 3.25-inches – so these should hopefully be scale-compatible with your existing line of movie and Marvel Universe figures.

I like the idea – it’s a creative mash-up of the action figure and builder categories, and Iron Man is a great property for this kind of product. With a single figure, Hasbro says you’ll be able to create 25 or more variations. But the real kicker is that the armor parts can be combined across figures, for hundreds of possibilities from the line’s planned 16 individual figures.
