New York Comic Con 2011 – Hasbro Marvel Avengers Movie Figures

At Hasbro’s special preview night, we saw a few figures from both the 6-inch Avengers line and the 3.75-inch Avengers line. At the official NYCC preview night, Hasbro had more of both on display. I think both lines are looking really good. For the recent Marvel movies, I’ve only picked up a couple of the Iron Man figures – these have me thinking about building out a full movie collection.

New York Comic Con 2011 – Hasbro Marvel Legends

New York Comic Con opened its doors last night for Preview Night for 4-day ticket holders, press, and professionals. And right at the entrance I found Hasbro’s booth – and it is pretty massive for the their first time at NYCC. I know there were some folks who were disappointed that during Hasbro’s own preview night, they showed Avengers movie figures in the 6-inch scale. But fret no more – Hasbro showed another full wave of Marvel Legends in their display booth.

Hasbro decided to mark their first appearance at New York Comic Con with a special preview night, organized quite ably by Hunter PR and held at the very posh Yotel. You might recall a few years back, the Hasbro Marvel team held a similar event at San Diego Comic-Con, when they had first picked up the Marvel license – with all the brands (Transformers, Star Wars, GI Joe, Marvel, and KRE-O) participating, this seemed like an even grander affair.

But we weren’t there for food and drink – we first headed to the first room we saw marked Marvel, and found some movie Marvel Legends.

New York Comic-Con 2011 – Diamond Select Toys Minimates Giveaways

With The Walking Dead set to return to AMC this Sunday, and Halloween around the corner, it looks like zombies are going to have a strong showing at New York Comic Con. Diamond Select Toys is on that bandwagon with a Maximum Zombies Minimates 2-pack and a Zombie civilian Minimates giveaway. And if you can’t get enough Minimate zombies, check out the Zombie decal kit from Luke’s Toy Store – Luke was years ahead of the zombie bandwagon when he came up with an easy way to create a Minimates zombie army.

DST is also giving away a very limited number of Minimates from their MAX line – just more victims for the zombie horde, I’m afraid.
