AFP Hasbro G.I. JOE Q&A Round-Up for 3/30/10

Hasbro is conducting the G.I. Joe Q&As a little differently now, and we’re still trying to figure it out. We get to submit three questions, and then they send us answers to one or more of them (we got two answered and Fwoosh got one). After a few days, they send us the questions and answers from all the sites.

We expected to get the answer to our unanswered questions (we asked about Matt Trakker), but that wasn’t included in the full list, so maybe the round-up only includes the answered questions. Confused? We are too. In any case, here’s the AFP questions again, followed by the questions and answers from the other sites.

1) We’re psyched to get two new Sgt. Slaughters at San Diego Comic-Con, but you’ve whetted our appetites for more classicly-styled figures. Will the Pursuit of Cobra figures incorporate any classic-styled designs, or will figures be styled only according to the four different environment themes?

Thanks, we’re glad the fan response has been so positive for the Sgt. Slaughter exclusives! The Pursuit of Cobra will focus on the four environment themes but we will try and sneak in some classic elements. We can reveal more at JoeCon!

AFP Hasbro Marvel Q&A Roundup for 3/30/10

We’re back with the first Marvel Q&A of 2010 from the team at Hasbro.  Thanks guys!

1) We’ve seen Marvel Universe card art for the Iron Patriot that shows Norman Osborn unmasked, holding the Iron Patriot helmet. Will the upcoming figure include an Iron Patriot head, a Norman Osborn head, or (we hope) both?

You just never know what Norman is thinking or how he’ll show up – just be on the look out!

AFP Hasbro G.I. JOE Q&A for 3/20/10

Hasbro is conducting the G.I. Joe Q&As a little differently now. Of the three questions submitted, they’ll respond to a number of them of their choosing for the initial round of answers, and then in a couple of days, they’ll send out all the answers to all the questions for the current round.

This time, we got two of our three questions answered. Come back again on Tuesday, when we’ll have the remainder of the answers.

AFP Ask Matty Round-Up for 3/15/10

Here’s the latest Ask Matty Q&A. Thanks to Toy Guru and Mattel!

1. With Guy Gardner coming soon in the Green Lantern 5-pack, it dawned on me – we’re pretty darned close to having the core team members from the JLI. I won’t ask about our favorite Oreo-craving Martian, but will it be more difficult to get Fire and Ice in a regular Collect and Connect assortment because they’re female and not that active in today’s comics? And since Black Canary has seen a more classic release recently, is her JLI look off the table for the foreseeable future?

We’d love to get to all the figures and in the deco you mentioned. All are possible candidates but we can’t comment on unannounced figures!

Poll: Will You Buy the All-In Club Eternia Subscription?

Masters of the Universe Classics - Whiplash 01 (767x1024).jpgMasters of the Universe Classics - Moss-Man 02 (768x1024).jpgMasters of the Universe Classics - She-Ra 02 (768x1024).jpgMasters of the Universe Classics - Tytus 05 (1024x1024).jpgMasters of the Universe Classics - Gygor 02 (1024x1024).jpg

As a follow-up to yesterday’s poll (What Kind of Club Eternia Subscription Do You Want for 2011?) I wanted to ask you how you felt about the Toy Guru’s all-in option.   Here’s Toy Guru’s description of the current plan.

So the tentative plan for 2011 is to have the following:

  • 12 Monthly figs
  • 4 Quarterly figs
  • 4 Oversized figs ($30 – $60)
  • 1 Subscription only figure (similar to Wun-Dar)

We are only going to offer one type of subscription (sorry folk, no tiers here). That being said, would fans prefer the subscription include only the 12 monthly figures or 1 of every sku including quarterly figures and oversize figures? Things could change, and obviously if Battlecat and Tytus don’t perform well we may not go forward with the oversize skus in 2011, but from initial feedback from NYTF, it looks like fans can’t wait for more big characters!

via 2011 Subscription – all in or only monthly figs?

It looks like the all-in subscription would guarantee double the expense that the 2010 Club Eternia sub does, so I will have to think twice before pulling the trigger on that. I would also think that if the subscription is double the cost, then Mattel ought to include two bonus figures.

If you’ve got some thoughts on this, feel free to leave a comment below.
