AFP Hasbro Marvel Q&A Roundup – 12/17/9

After missing a month, we’re back with the latest Marvel Q&A from the team at Hasbro.  Thanks guys!

1. What can we Marvel Legends collectors do to encourage Hasbro to create some sort of online monthly or perhaps even quarterly figure release program similar to the one Mattel is successfully using over on their website? I know that if it can work with a property like Masters Of The Universe it can definitely work with Marvel Legends. As someone who like many has collected 6-inch figures for years I really wish there was a program like this that would get us more 6-inch Marvel figures.

We are always looking at ways and options to get the Legends figures into the hands of fans. Plans are being made and we will announce them soon.

Last Toys R Us Free Shipping Promotion of the Year – 12/17 Only

Just got an email – Toys R Us is having their last free shipping promotion of the year, today, 12/17 only.

Toys R Us

I took a quick look, and there’s a big mix of stuff that you might want to pick up if you skipped it earlier. For example, they have the Sue and Johnny Storm Marvel Legends 2-pack, the Giants of Justice Flash (also on sale), and a bunch of Joes and Marvel Universe figures in the action figure section their free shipping store. Some of the stuff is already out of stock, like the UFC figures, so you might want to check this out early.

The free shipping store goes away at the end of today. Happy Shopping!

Marvel and Star Trek Keyboards and Mice

I just had to repost this from the Comics – The Blog From Another World section (have you clicked on that link in the top menu bar?) – these keyboards and mice, featuring the top Marvel characters (Wolverine, Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Thor) and a couple featuring the Enterprise from this summer’s Star Trek movie, just went in stock today.

If you’re looking for a gift for a pop culture fan (or maybe yourself), these would be a great pick!  If you want to get something for me, I am a big fan of the Coipel Thor keyboard and mouse – I named my PC “Thor” so it’s all coming together. 😀

Art Asylum Announces Marvel Select Deadpool

I suppose I’m not surprised that Marvel Select is coming out with a Deadpool figure.  After all, Deadpool is starting to enter Wolverine territory, with three monthly comics, guest appearances all over the Marvel Comics universe, and his own movie in development with Ryan Reynolds reprising his role from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

I’ll have to do some more image searching but the figure looks very heavily influenced by Rob Liefeld’s early Deadpool art, especially the design of the mask and torso, but the wrist and ankle bands don’t coincide with Deadpool’s first appearance.  I am also curious as far as timing, since Hasbro has Deadpool slated for an appearance in a Fall 2010 Marvel Legends 2-pack.

Presenting….Deadpool

Sorry kids, nothing clever to say to introduce this guy (I’ll save the witty remarks for the paint stage). Here is the newest in the Marvel Select line – Deadpool. He’ll be coming with a ton of accessories (weapons, lots of weapons) and be on the lookout for a chase variant unmasked version (which I have but I’m not showing ‘cuz I’m mean like that).
