Hot Toys Reveals Avengers: Age of Ultron Iron Man Mark XLV and Iron Legion

Hot Toys revealed its latest figures from Avengers: Age of Ultron – a pair of Iron Man figures. The Mark XLV armor was introduced late in the movie without the typical fanfare we’d have seen if this were from a solo Iron Man flick. It’s the latest Diecast release, and in addition to the normal accessories, it comes with several blast effects and a damaged Ultron Prime as part of its base. The Mark XLV is my favorite look for Iron Man thus far in the entire franchise. The curves give it a more organic look than the previous armors, and I think it strikes just the right balance of red with a touch of gold.

In contrast, the Iron Legion figure looks wholly like a machine. There’s no mistaking that there’s not a person in that suit of armor. In many ways, the design reminds me of clunkier toys like the defunct Sigma Six G.I. JOE figures. This particular Iron Legion is identified as “03” – I don’t know if that’s significant to the creation of the Ultron Mark I, but I’d think it would have been cool if Hot Toys provided number decals so you could recreate more of the Iron Legion. I bet someone supplies decal kits in the aftermarket.

You can pre-order the Marvel Iron Man Mark XLV Sixth Scale Figure at Sideshow Collectibles. The Iron Legion hasn’t shown up for pre-order yet, but we’ll keep searching Sideshow for it.

Watch the Sesame Street Aveggies: Age of Bon Bon Parody

Sesame Street Parody - Aveggies - Age of Bon Bon

The Aveggies: Age of Bon Bon is the latest Sesame Street Parody, having already spoofed Breaking Bad, Star Wars and Game of Thrones flawlessly. This one is equally hilarious essentially because it shows how questionable the powers of the Avengers err the Aveggies actually are. And Bon Bon/Ultron turning all vegetables to Cookies & Cream just goes to show you how being bad can be pretty sweet, pun intended.

Watch till the end, cuz a Hulked out Cookie Monster is worth the whole five minutes of this video, and maybe the 2 plus hours I endured seeing Avengers 2… well, maybe not.

Avengers: Ghost in the Machine Man – BillsComics.com

Bill has had his hands full moving and setting up a new home, but with Avengers: Age of Ultron in theaters now and Ant-Man not far behind, he managed to put together a new comic featuring (you guessed it) the Avengers with a special appearance by Ant-Man! Please enjoy the Ghost in the Machine Man, and be sure to check out the rest of Bill’s work here at AFP and at Bill’s Comics.

Three A Toys Marvel Ultron Pre-Order High Res Pics

3A Toys Marvel Ultron 01

The 3A Toys Marvel Ultron is up for pre-order now at Bambaland in three colorways (classic, shadow, and ghost) for $220 each. These are shown with bluish white LEDs for the light-up function – 3A will send a red LED version upon request. After you’ve added Ultron to your shopping cart, there’ll be a message text box where you can enter a message to 3A’s customer service folks for your order.

Since I missed the 3AA window this year (by an hour, argh) I’ve been rethinking every item that’s gone into the shopping cart. The red LED option got my money, but I think that’s just icing – I probably would have pre-ordered Ultron regardless. I had a hard time choosing between classic and shadow. Classic won out in the end – hard to fight the chrome plated look.

Still need convincing? Check out these high-res images from 3A’s Ultron Look Book.

ThreeA Toys Marvel Ultron Up for Pre-Order May 6

3A Toys Marvel Ultron - classic, stealth, and ghost

I might still be in afterglow from seeing Avengers: Age of Ultron this past weekend, but I think Ultron may be the best Marvel figure to come from 3A Toys yet. Like their previous releases of Iron Man and Doctor Doom, Ultron will be available in three colorways – I am not sure if I prefer the plated chrome “classic” or the brushed metallic “stealth” version (the ghost white is not my thing).

Ultron will feature the Ashley Wood touches that we’ve seen in the other 3A releases, like the individually articulated fingers and over-sized feet, while some elements remain absolutely faithful to the Marvel design, especially Ultron’s head. The figure will have LEDs in the eyes, mouth, and chest – I was hoping for red, but they’ll be a bluish-white.

For the time-zone challenged, Ultron goes up for pre-sale at Bambaland on May 6 at 6PM PST.
