Marvel Universe Comic 2-Packs Series 3 Press Pics

MarvelousNews has images of the series of Marvel Universe 2-packs that will follow the Secret Wars series. While these are still mock-ups with Secret Wars comics packed in, the actual figures will come with Uncanny X-Men #175 (which features Dark Phoenix but is not actually part of the Dark Phoenix Saga) and Dark Avengers #1. I was hoping we would also get a regular Phoenix in her green costume out of this series, but so far no variant has been announced.

Shown below are some new carded images for Hasbro’s upcoming Comic Figure 2-packs. This 3rd wave for 2010 will be the first set of non-Secret Wars based figures. Instead we have one set based on the Dark Phoenix saga from the X-Men titles and one from the more recent Dark Avengers storyline. The sets include the following figures:

  • Daken & Venom (From the pages of Dark Avengers. Daken is disguised as Wolverine and Venom disguised as Spider-Man)
  • Cyclops & Dark Phoenix

NECA Announces More BioShock Figures for Summer

I know Sandman likes these (see his Big Sister and Little Sister review), but it’s difficult for me to appreciate them fully without ever having played the game.

Shocked Again

NECA Shines Light on New BioShock Figures and Replicas!

Hot on the heels of our Big Daddy Bouncer plush replica and the EVE Hypo Syringe, we’ve got a whole new wave of BioShock items due this summer!

Based on the 2k Games smash hit, BioShock 2, our latest wave of BioShock items are bigger and more detailed than ever before — and in the case of the Subject Delta plush, also more adorable.

At over seven inches tall, Subject Delta is the sequel to the Big Daddy Bouncer plush replica. It perfectly captures the look of Little Sister’s doll from the game. Comes complete with a baseball head, corkscrew drill arm and a wristwatch face.

For those looking for a little more action (figures), we’ve got our Series 2 assortment, which features an Eleanor Lamb and Little Sister two pack and a 7″ Ladysmith Splicer that comes with a tommy gun, rolling pin and a removable mask. The Little Sister and Eleanor Lamb stand 3 3/4” and are fully articulated. Accessories include ADAM syringes and two small Big Daddy dolls for the girls to hold.

And then it’s time to get deluxe. Big Daddy Rosie is loaded with articulation and tanks that plug into the back. This enormous figure also comes with the Rivet Gun accessory that she can hold in her right hand. This is the biggest and baddest Big Daddy yet!

All these new BioShock items will hit stores late June or July and will also be featured on our Amazon storefront.

First Look – Ghostbusters Walter Peck – TheFwoosh.com

I’m psyched for people that want Walter Peck for their Ghostbusters collections. Personally, if I pick him up, it will be more for the outstanding accessory – the wall and containment unit with working hatch. For those of you who didn’t pick up Winston Zeddemore, Peck will also come with a non-opening, non-corded ghost trap.

So, that is the plastic realization of the perfect movie scumbag. I can’t freakin’ wait to get Venkman so I can pose these two together. Even now, despite that I am a total face-forward vanilla action figure poser, I am tempted to pose my Spengler figure trying to throw a choke hold on Peck. Any guy that can elicit that strong of a reaction out of Egon is certifiably butt-headed in my book. “Your mother!” Awesome.

First Look – Masters of the Universe Classics Optikk – TheFwoosh.com

VeeBee has a nice first look up for Optikk, the first figure in Masters of the Universe Classics from The New Adventures of He-Man. I know there’s a fair amount of derision aimed at that animated series – I have never seen it, so I can’t comment. But I do know that I like way Optikk looks – and there’s your pun for the day.

I have learned a lot about the Galactic Guardians and Space Mutants in the past year or so gearing up the eventual release of the first NA figure. When Optikk was announced, I was quite pleased. While there are several NA figures with cool designs (mostly the bad guys), Optikk and Slush Head have been my two most wanted (and if the Trade Mark hints are any indication, Slushy just might be next).

Believe it or not, Optikk utilizes a lot of reuse, probably more than you would expect at first. For the most part, he is Kronis – arms, chest and legs. He has a brand new “armor” piece that is quite impressive from a design/scupt standpoint (it is removable). Leave it to the Horsemen, they even sculpted the dial on his back from the old figure (just for show on this version). In lieu of the furry shorts, Optikk has a more modern, um brief(?) that will work perfectly for a certain as-yet-unproduced hero with many faces. Again, this is sculpted really well and fits so that it is not bulky (like Adora) so I hope that for any short/skirt/pant pieces they follow this pattern.

Two more Blackest Night series? This is the comic event that keeps on giving, toy-wise. I can hear the the DC collectors being torn apart. First, you’ve got Mera, who makes her first appearance in plastic form, but as a Red Lantern?! Outrage!!!

But with her, Dex-Starr? We love you again, DC Direct!
