Diamond Select Toys Announces San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Walking Dead Minimates 4-Pack

If you can’t get enough of zombie Minimates, then you’ll want to get to San Diego Comic-Con (or ask a friend) to pick up this exclusive 4-pack of Walking Dead Minimates. Sure, SDCC is a great time for this set, but I think Diamond Select Toys missed an opportunity to release these on Father’s Day – after all, you’ve got crotchety old Hershel and his zombie son Shawn here. Come to think of it, they could have included “gut-shot” Carl in this set to really nail the theme. Arm-chair product management is fun!

The Walking Dead Minimates Return to Hershel’s Farm at SDCC!

At Comic-Con International in 2012, Diamond Select Toys released the first two-pack from their line of The Walking Dead Minimates, based on the best-selling Skybound comic book by Robert Kirkman. The two-pack quickly sold out, and DST swore to top themselves in 2013. Now, with the third full series of Walking Dead Minimates in stores, DST and Skybound are proud to announce a new exclusive four-pack for this year’s Comic-Con!

This year’s Comic-Con exclusive Walking Dead Minimates box set is titled Hershel’s Farm, and it includes four different Minimates based on the famous farmhouse story arc. Included in the set are Hershel, his deceased son Zombie Shawn, Lookout Duty Rick and a Barn Zombie. The Minimates come in a blister-carded four-pack, and each stands 2 inches tall, with a variety of interchangeable parts and accessories, including a pitchfork and a blanket. The set will be limited to only 3000 produced.

The set will be available at the Diamond Select Toys booth, #2607, as well as from various retailers around the show floor. Comic-Con International takes place July 18-21 at the San Diego Convention Center. For more information, visit artasylum.com!

Han Shot First – But Greedo Gets First Dibs at Hasbro Star Wars Black Series Wave 2

Entertainment Earth and Hasbro have revealed the first figure from Star Wars Black Series wave 2, and it’s none other than Greedo, Han Solo’s unwitting victim in the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine. They’re planning four successive reveals each week that highlight the design and development of the Greedo figure. This first week gives us a glimpse at the figure’s blaster, holster, and hands – which I’m guessing have bendy fingers. While you’re there, you can pre-order Star Wars Black Series wave one.

But you’re not thinking about that, are you? You’ve got the Cantina Band music playing in your head now and you can’t get it out. Instead, try this – start humming the William Tell Overture (that’s the Lone Ranger theme song) and tell me it doesn’t morph into the Cantina Band song. Crazy, huh? Not as crazy if wave 2 doesn’t also include Han Solo.

Entertainment Earth Star Wars Black Series Reveal 1 of 4

In collaboration with Hasbro, Entertainment Earth is proud to introduce a never-before-seen figure in the second wave of the BLACK SERIES 6-inch scale action figure line! During the next few weeks, we will release images that give fans an inside look at the development of this great new character — concept to final product. Visit EntertainmentEarth.com weekly to see what we reveal in this exciting line that features incredible accuracy and articulation.

Pre-Order the Bandai S.H. Figuarts DragonBall Z Krillin

SH Figuarts DBZ Krillin 1

I love the SH Figuarts DragonBall Z line from Bandai, but my wallet is glad they don’t release figures more often. I’m going to have to pick up the latest figure they’ve announced – Kuririn aka Krillin. He comes with 3 different facial expressions, 6 sets of hands, and his Destructo Disc.

You can pre-order the SH Figuarts Krillin from Amazon and BigBadToyStore. He’s listed for $39.99 at both and is due in November.

WebSwipe: Diamond Select Toys is Making Invincible Minimates – Comic Book Resources

Sometimes I wish that Minimates didn’t exist – because with independent comics they present a much lower risk option. And for a comic like Invincible, I would love a Marvel Legends-scaled and articulated action figure line. But the days of Legendary Comic Book Heroes from Toy Biz are long gone, so I suppose Invincible Minimates are much better than nothing at all. Click through to Comic Book Resources – they have all the Invincible Minimates design sheets, and an Atom Eve statue too.

The pages of Robert Kirkman and company’s Image Comics/Skybound series “Invincible” may itself be in a constant state of expansion (and bloodshed!) as the writer reveals new heroes and villains in almost every monthly issue. But soon, the Invincible Universe will be expanding into our world.

This fall, Diamond Select Toys will debut a number of products inspired by the “Invincible” comic starting with a four-pack of Minimates based on series lead Mark Grayson, Omni-Man, Atom Eve and Allen the Alien. CBR News got an exclusive first look at the designs for the figures as well as the picture of their final form.

Masters of the Universe Classics Octavia and DC Universe Classics Red Hood Headline June MattyCollector Sale Today

With the June MattyCollector sale, it’s the calm before the San Diego Comic-Con storm. Octavia is a Horde member from She-Ra Princess of Power, so even though I like how the figure turned out, I suspect she’ll have a smaller following. And judging from many of the comments I’ve seen, this version of Red Hood is not a highly sought after one. It’s Jason Todd from the second arc in Morrison’s Batman and Robin, and he changed costumes right after that. A lot of people clamored for a jacketed version, and others would have preferred a more classic Joker Red Hood. From the rehashes, only Man-At-Arms remains from Early Access; Spikor sold out.

Today marks the official opening of the subscriptions for 2013 for Club Eternia and Club Infinite Earths. The new flight stands are up for sale today too – they are two to a pack. For your convenience, here’s the link to the bundle page for the June MattyCollector sale. The sale opens up at 9AM PST this morning.
