Taco Truck Packaging Best Thing about Marvel Universe Deadpool Corps SDCC Exclusive

I’ve been trying to get myself pumped up about Hasbro’s Marvel Universe exclusive for San Diego Comic-Con. I love Deadpool, so you’d think that six versions of Deadpool in taco truck packaging would be right up my alley. While the packaging truly is glorious, it’s tough to see this as more than a bunch of missed opportunities. Deadpool himself looks to be recycled from one of the figures back from Wolverine Origins, and while they added the floaties (a great touch) you’d think if they were going to add an alternate head, they could have included Headpool / Zombie Deadpool. Lady Deadpool and the Champ are nice representations of the comic book characters, but I really do hate the book – Rob Liefeld artwork – need I say more?

Gentle Giant Reveals SDCC 2013 Exclusive Boba Fett Deluxe Mini Bust

Boba Fett is proving to be a popular exclusive for San Diego Comic-Con this year. Gentle Giant is producing a deluxe mini bust of the bounty hunter. He will measure in at over 7-inches tall, and come with interchangeable arms that allow him to cradle his Blas Tech EE-3 rifle or aim his Kelvarek mini-rocket. The Boba Fett mini bust is limited to 2,500 pieces and will cost $150.

And if Boba Fett is your guy, you’ll also want to pick up the Star Wars Black Series Boba Fett, one of Hasbro’s exclusives for SDCC.

Boba Fett, the Bounty Hunter has developed an unbelievable cult following over the years since the release of The Empire Strikes Back. It’s only proper that we honor this iconic character with a bust befitting his status. Crafted by the master artisans at Gentle Giant Ltd., this bust redefines the term “Deluxe.” Packaged in a gorgeous tin emblazoned with the insignia of the feared Mandalorian Mercenaries, our Deluxe Boba Fett Mini Bust features multiple interchangeable arms, allowing collectors a wide range of dynamic poses. This limited edition bust will be available only at San Diego Comic Con 2013. Each bust is hand-painted and individually numbered, and comes with a matching certificate of authenticity.

Mattel Reveals SDCC Exclusive Man of Steel Movie Masters Superman vs General Zod 2-Pack

Mattel Man of Steel Superman vs Zod 1 Mattel Man of Steel Superman vs Zod 2

When Mattel announced the DC Universe Man of Steel Movie Masters 2-pack, they just had a single picture of the front of the package. Now they’ve provided additional (albeit small) images that show the back of the package, how the diorama is set up inside and out of the packaging, and a shot simulating how the heat vision will be realized. I’m a little suspect on the last part – I imagine this will be achieved with a small red LED aimed at Superman’s face, but I doubt the lighting can be so specific as it’s shown.

I thought maybe there’d be some battle damage to distinguish the figures from their retail counterparts, but the only differences I saw are that Superman will come with an “angry” head sculpt and a fabric cape instead of a plastic one. This 2-pack will be $50 at San Diego Comic-Con, and will be available on MattyCollector.com on August 5th.

That’s the promo picture on the left, and a render from the Lost Planet 2 game on the right. The pre-order goes live on Bambaland tomorrow, June 21, at 9PM EST.
