Hot Toys Previews the Evolution of Ultron

Hot Toys already announced the Ultron Prime figure from Avengers: Age of Ultron, but at a promotional tour in Asia they revealed two more upcoming Ultron figures – the Ultron Sentry and Ultron Mark I. Remember, in Chinese, you read from right to left, which explains why the Mark I is on the far right.

We’re one month away from the opening date. Avengers Assemble!

Hot Toys Avengers Age of Ultron - Ultron Prime, Ultron Sentry, and Ultron Mark I

The Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron 1/6th scale Ultron Prime, Ultron Sentry, and Ultron Mark I collectible figures’ prototypes by Hot Toys have already assembled for fans to see up close at “Team Up at Hyan Place & Lee Theatre Powered by Hot Toys”, the first stop of “Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Exhibition” Hot Toys Asia tour!

How did these Ultrons come about? Guess we will find out when the movie hits theatres very soon.

Hot Toys Announces First Quarter Scale Iron Man – Avengers: Age of Ultron Mark XLIII

Hot Toys Quarter Scale Avengers Age of Ultron Iron Man Mark XLIII 01

Have a big house and an even bigger toy budget? For those of you who think 12-inches of Iron Man isn’t enough, Hot Toys has just announced the first quarter scale Iron Man. The Iron Man Mark XLIII from Avengers: Age of Ultron stands at an impressive 20-inches tall and has all the bells and whistles you could expect – an interchangeable Tony Stark head and three pairs of hands; LED light-up eyes, ARC reactor, and repulsors; and an Ultron Sentry base with an arm and head that Iron Man can rip off of it.

You can pre-order the Marvel Iron Man Mark XLIII Quarter Scale Figure from Sideshow Collectibles for $544.99. That’s a bargain, considering their listing for the Hot Toys Hulkbuster Iron Man (one inch taller at 21-inches tall) at $824.99. Guess it’s time to tell my wife we need a second mortgage!

Hot Toys Reveals Hawkeye from Avengers: Age of Ultron

Hot Toys Avengers Age of Ultron Hawkeye 01

Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is the latest Avenger from Age of Ultron to get a Hot Toys figure. Like Cap, Iron Man, Hulk, and Black Widow, Hawkeye’s been updated with his costume look from the movie, sporting the long sleeve tunic that looks more appropriate for those cold weather sequences in the movie. His headsculpt looks better to me this time around, and yes, he still comes with those cool shades. He’s also armed with a baker’s dozen of arrows and nine interchangeable arrow heads – if you ask me, that still doesn’t seem like enough when you’re being overrun by a horde of Ultron drones.

I skipped the first version of Hawkeye when the original movie came out, but feel compelled to complete my Avengers with him now. You can pre-order the Marvel Hawkeye Sixth Scale Figure from Sideshow Collectibles.

This just leaves Thor and Nick Fury for the major characters that may get re-dos for the sequel, and the mutant Inhuman twins, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, for their first Hot Toys figures. Avengers Assemble!

Now or Never for Club 200X – Last Day to Subscribe

Masters of the Universe Classics Club 200X - Last Chance March 23

The fate of Mattycollector’s Club 200X will be decided today, as fans of Masters of the Universe Classics have their last opportunity to subscribe. As of last Friday, the sub had climbed to 81% of the total pre-orders needed to ensure all six figures will be made. While it’s possible that it hit 100% over the weekend, we’ve yet to hear from Mattel this morning. If it’s still below the threshold, we could have a long wait, even past closing time tonight, to learn the final outcome.

Masters of the Universe Classics Club 200X at 76% and Counting…

club200xLastChance_CDABanner

Based on the latest update from Skeletor’s Love Child, subscribers have pushed the pre-orders for the 6-figure Club 200X subscription from 50% to 76% over the past week. With five days to go, what seemed insurmountable a week ago now seems achievable. Maybe I was too hasty asking if Club 200X was dead.

What do you think – will it make it? Have you subbed?
