I spend a lot of time talking about action figures in the 1:12, 1:6, and even 1:4 scale – rarely do I come across life-sized items. In this case, this one of a kind 1:1 AT-ST Scout Walker from Star Wars is special, since it will tower over the vehicle you normally drive around. And while it costs as much as a car but doesn’t actually walk around, the AT-ST will set you back around $16K in a special classified ad on eBay.
The seller suggests that you can make money carting it around to shows and special events. It’s constructed in a way that facilitates transporting it. But heck, I just want this thing standing outside my house, to ward off pesky Ewoks.

Almost a decade ago, U2 let Apple put its name on a special edition iPod, sparking the co-mingling of rock and roll with product sales. As much as the U2 iPod was largely superficial, today’s news certainly has more than meets the eye – Hasbro is releasing a special edition Transformers Soundwave with Linkin Park. Besides Linkin Park having several songs on the soundtracks of the Transformers movies, their Joe Hahn also happens to be a fan and collector of the Transformers action figures.
The Linkin Park special edition Soundwave has a unique gold deco from the G1 mold. It includes Ravage, Lazerbeak, Buzzsaw and Ratbat which transform into microcassettes that fit within Soundwave’s tape compartment. The Soundwave set is $150, exclusively from Suru in Los Angeles, through October 3, or while supplies last.

Not sure how long this is going to last, but right now LEGO sets are BOGO50 – buy one, get one for half price at ToysRUs.com. This covers almost every set, including those in Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, Marvel, DC, Lone Ranger, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more – even their girlie Lego Friends sets if pastels are your thing.
There’s a handful of sets that are already deeply discounted so those won’t count, but there’s still big sets like the Millennium Falcon and Jabba’s Palace that you could combine for some pretty big savings. I’m not sure if these qualify for the free shipping for purchases over $79 deal, but if they do, that wouldn’t be that hard to do with LEGO. 😀 Happy shopping!
