Diamond Select Toys Reveals Marvel Select Iron Man 3 Packaging

The latest Iron Man offerings from Diamond Select Toys are nearly here, and the Mark 42 and War Machine are very impressive. I’ve been waiting for them to reveal their Iron Patriot, and am wondering if the other figure in the second wave of Marvel Select Iron Man 3 figures will be another armor altogether or if it will be something like a Gwyneth Paltrow headsculpt in the Mark 42 armor.

Marvel Select Iron Man 3 Figure Packaging Revealed!

The wait for the ultimate Iron Man 3 action figures is almost here! Diamond Select Toys has given us a first look at the packaged shots for the Iron Man Mark 42 armor as well as the War Machine armor!

Happy Memorial Day! Add Captain America to Your Marvel Legends Collection

I know. If you collect Marvel Legends you’ve already got a metric ton of Captain America figures – but it’s Memorial Day, and instead of coming up with original content for you, I’ve been thinking about friends and relatives who’ve served their countries. But back to the subject at hand – as I considered each of these versions of Cap, I found it interesting that they’ve all got guns. When I was a kid, Cap was the Boy Scout on the Marvel side like Superman was at DC Comics. While Steve Rogers could use the shield as a weapon, its first use was always as a defense for Cap and his allies.

Mattel to Open 2014 Subscriptions for Club Eternia and Club Infinite Earths Early – 6/17 to 8/19

The second Mattel item is a bit of a head scratcher. People have been asking for the subscription window for the Matty subs to be open longer – presumably, it’s tough to commit to a year’s worth of figures only knowing a quarter’s worth of them. In response, Mattel has extended the window – but on the front end, before any information at all on the figures will be known. Thanks for that! 🙂

In addition, at this point there’s only two subs on the table – Club Eternia for Masters of the Universe Classics, and Club Infinite Earths for DC Universe Classics. There’s no extension to Club Black Freighter for Watchmen or Club Filmation, both of which went live this year without any thermometer drama. But I don’t think we should take this as final on what will be available – who knows what surprises Mattel has up their sleeves for San Diego Comic-Con?

clubeternia_product_page_full ClubInfiniteEarths_product_page_full2014 Club Eternia® & Club Infinite Earths Subscriptions Available 6/17 thru 8/19

Toy Fans,

As you probably know, we usually open subscriptions right after our Mattypalooza fan panel at San Diego Comic-Con and they stay open for about a month. Over the years, many of you have asked us to run the subscriptions longer so for 2014, we’re starting the sale early so everyone has a chance to get theirs when it’s convenient for them!

Subscriptions will be available for Masters of the Universe® Classics Club Eternia® and DC Universe Club Infinite Earths. When you sign up on 6/17, you’ll get all the subscription details except the names of the club-exclusive figure and first-quarter figures for each club. As always, those will be revealed at Mattypalooza Fan Panel at SDCC. (If you’re wondering why we don’t wait to open the subs until after the fan panel and leave the subscriptions open past August, it’s because we need final numbers by 8/19 to set production quotas and hit a January 2014 release date.)

Here are the dates you need to know:

2014 Subscriptions – Club Eternia® & Club Infinite Earths

Availability Opens: Monday 6/17 9am PT
Club-Exclusive Figures Announced: Mattypalooza Fan Panel at SDCC
Availability Closes: Monday 8/19 11:59pm PT

WebSwipe: Arrested Development Paper Dolls – Kyle Hilton

What am I doing today? Watching Arrested Development on Netflix! I normally don’t collect action figures for live action shows, but I’d be all in for the Bluths. I’d want a banana stand playset and a stair car vehicle too. Sadly, the show doesn’t even have bobble heads.

But during my search, I found these Arrested Development paper dolls by Kyle Hilton (see all of them at Kyle’s Tumblr). He’s even got two versions of Tobias – the variant is Blue Man Group Tobias – just awesome.

“And the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together…”

Sadly, we’ve come to the last (but not least) Bluth. I saved him for last because it just felt right. Michael is the perfect foil for all of your crazy, dysfunctional Bluth family paper dolls. I’m putting together a Complete Set that collects all 10 paper dolls in one PDF. It will have all the dolls I’ve posted as of now, and a little extra something for those that take the time to download it. I’ll post it a little later tonight, but for now enjoy Michael and all his boring old nice-guyness.
