Diamond Select Toys Has Marvel Minimates and Marvel Select from Thor: the Dark World

We’re a little over a month away from Thor: the Dark World, and if you’re jonesing for toys, then Diamond Select Toys has got you covered – they’ve got Thor Minimates and Marvel Select figures on the way.

Minimates allows them to go pretty wide – not just the main guys in Thor, Malekith, and Loki, but they’ve got a Dark Elf army builder, Eric Selvig, and and Darcy Lewis represented. Kat Dennings fans rejoice! I’m surprised at Darcy but no Jane Foster – I’m guessing she’ll show up at big box retail, as this series is headed to comic book and specialty retailers.

Jane will definitely make an appearance with Thor in the Marvel Select line. The figures will be sold separately but will each have bases that connect to form a diorama for the figures. Are we supposed to call that BAD (build-a-diorama)?

Hot Toys Announces The Wolverine

The latest Wolverine figure from Hot Toys has got the best likeness to Hugh Jackman yet. The two outfits he comes with are a little plain – “funeral” Logan is an obvious choice, given one of the key action sequences in the movie, but it just looks out of place for the character for me. The sword of Clan Yashida is a nice accessory, but I wish it had more significance in the movie.

I suppose I would like this figure more if I had enjoyed the Wolverine movie more.

It’s got to be such a fun job, getting to take pictures of Marvel Select figures on the streets of (I presume) New York City. Play Imaginative Shares More Pics of the Super Alloy Iron Man 2 Hammer Drones

Are you interested in 1/12 scale diecast Iron Man figures? Play Imaginative has just posted more pics of their Super Alloy Hammer Drones from Iron Man 2.

Although I haven’t seen specs yet, these should be upwards of 80% diecast with articulation up the wazoo, and be priced around $100 and change. Yeah, I know – that’s tough for army builders, but there’s always the lottery!
