Axel Giménez Artwork for Power-Con

I’m a big fan of Axel Giménez‘s art. He recently posted on the AFP Facebook wall so I thought I’d share it with the rest of you. This is some of the artwork that Axel did for Power-Con.

Be sure to check out My Art – Masters of the Universe and Others – there’s a ton of Axel’s awesome illustrations.

Custom DC Universe Classics Bizarro and More by wally2974

A short while ago frequent commenter wally2974 sent me an email asking me about how I made my custom Legion of Doom / classic Bizarro. Of course, I gladly take credit for it even though Ibentmyman-thing did all the hard work (he sculpted the Bizarro head).

It was very flattering that wally was inspired by the custom enough to want to make one himself, so I asked him if he’d send me pictures when he was done. Now I am tinged with jealousy, since his version came out much cleaner than mine. It doesn’t help that he also has one of those very rare light blue colored Superman figures that never made it to shelves. Curse you, wally! 😉

The Amazing Spider-Man and the Dark Knight Launch New Super-Articulated 1/12 Action Figure Line from Medicom

Medicom has had modest success with its 1/6 scale Real Action Hero line but they are now looking to turn the 1/12 scale on its head with its new MAFEX line of action figures, as highlighted in this blog post at AmiAmi.com. Featuring super-articulation, great sculpts, and accessories, these figures promise to be the best in class in 6 inches (6.3 inches to be precise) – sorry Hasbro and Mattel! Of course these are going to be import figures only, for those of us in the US – so you shouldn’t be expecting mass market action figure prices either.

These are available to pre-order now on the AmiAmi.com site:

At 2,820 JPY, they are roughly $36 and change each, not including overseas shipping. They’re listed with an expected April 2013 release date.
