These pictures come from BigBadToyStore, where they have just listed pre-orders for individual figures from DC Universe Classics Wave 13 mostly for $16.99 each. Based on how these are priced, I consider this another confirmation that the unbandaged variant of Negative Man will be a chase figure (he’s the only one listed for more at $19.99), and that the classic and modern Cheetah variants will be packed 50/50. Fans of the modern Cheetah, unfortunately she’s already pre-sold out.
BBTS also has several sets available for pre-order, and Enchanted Toy Chest has a set of 8 up for pre-order.
We’ve got 2 weeks left until Christmas, which means it’s time for Alison Haislip to show us the perfect gadgetry for the holiday geek, like a Lamp in a Box, WWE action figures, the Avatar Interactive Battle Pack and more. Forget everyone else, we might pick up some of this cool stuff for ourselves.
Mattel just updated its Facebook page saying that the RADCSH (formerly World’s Greatest Super Heroes) Green Arrow will go on sale with DC Universe Classics Wave 11 on December 23. Everything else that isn’t currently listed on their sales page should be added and available on the site for tomorrow’s big sale date.
SALE UPDATE! Green Arrow isn’t going to arrive at the warehouse in time for the sale tomorrow so he’s going to move to our 12/23 sale with Wave 11. All other products are arriving as we speak and will go on sale tomorrow. There might be a day or two delay in shipping as they still need to be sorted out once we receive them, but don’t worry — they’re coming!
CustomCon 24 was great this past week (and I’m not just saying that because it was hosted at the Fwoosh and put together by me :D) – the customizing world continues to grow and become more talented. I was happy to participate in the DC Universe Classics Justice Society of America entry by the guys on the Fwoosh staff, with my renditions of four of the original superheroes who formed the Justice Society on Earth 2.
I hadn’t planned on making all four of these. Robin was the catalyst, and I’ve wanted to convert a Detective Batman from DCUC Wave 1 ever since he was released a couple years ago. A lot of people find the costume corny, but I’ve loved it since first seeing it back in Justice League of America #91 and #92. That’s nostalgia for you!
And before I get too far into this, my recipe for Robin is pretty much the same as Iron Cow’s, without the belt swap. I daresay I was toying with the idea before he made his wonderful Earth 2 Robin v2, but acknowledge him as the far superior craftsman. And credit for Bats goes to Josh Izzo, who was the first I saw use that particular DC Direct head on a DCUC kitbash for his Silver Age Batman.
