Super Alloy 1/4 Scale War Machine Mark 2 (Exclusive Edition) Available for Pre-Order

The quarter scale Super Alloy War Machine Mark II is available for pre-order from YesAnime – they are the US distributor for Play Imaginative. For an armor that was cut out from Iron Man 3 (it had been planned for in an early draft of the movie), it sure has generated a lot of action figures. In addition to Play Imaginative’s War Marchines in 1/6 and 1/12, we’ve also seen upcoming figures of War Machine from Hasbro, Diamond Select Toys, and Hot Toys.

The price tag for this figure is $609.99, which puts it way out of my range, but I’m really interested in what Play Imaginative can achieve in this scale. It’s got over 50 points of articulation, LED lights (with a remote control for them), and even a microfiber cleaning cloth to wipe off fingerprints off of the over 80% of diecast parts. The exclusive edition comes with an alternate head featuring Don Cheadle’s likeness. Impressive.

Hot Toys Reveals Superman Man of Steel General Zod

Hot Toys has finally revealed its General Zod figure from Superman: Man of Steel, and I think it turned out great. There have been some requests for a more neutral head sculpt in addition to the angry, grimacing look that they went with, and some not too flattering comparisons with Jack Black. I’d prefer multiple head sculpts too, but if Hot Toys only includes one, I think they made a good choice.

You can pre-order General Zod at Sideshow Collectibles for $239.99. Superman and Jor-El are also available to pre-order.

ThreeA Toys Reveals Exclusive HALO EVA and More Emile Pics

3A Toys had shared that they would be putting the HALO Emile Spartan up for pre-order, but in a special edition of the 3aVOX newsletter, they revealed that they will also be selling a Bambaland exclusive Spartan Mark V EVA. They included a ton of detailed pics – they both look awesome!

Both armors will be available for $220 at Bambaland this Thursday, August 29, at 9PM EST. Emile should be available through 3A’s retail partners down the road.

Exclusive Marvel Legends Ultron Variant Available with Subscription to Marvel Unlimited Plus

Our good friend Paul wrote in that you can get an exclusive Marvel Legends Ultron variant by subscribing to Marvel’s new Marvel Unlimited Plus membership. Marvel Unlimited Plus expands on the access to Marvel’s digital comics library with discounts on digital comics and on merchandise from MarvelStore.com, and also promises access to special events and promotions related to the various comic conventions.

For action figure fans, Plus comes with a collector’s kit, including the Marvel Legends Ultron, a variant copy of Age of Ultron #10, and a personalized letter and membership card, all in a collectible Age of Ultron comics box. From the pictures it looks like Ultron has a more metallic paint deco than the version that came in Iron Man Legends wave 2, and also has a bright blue color in his mouth consistent with the Age of Ultron look.

Marvel Unlimited Plus costs $99, which is a $30 upsell over the regular Unlimited subscription, if purchased annually. If you subscribe monthly, a regular Unlimited sub would cost you about $120.

ThreeA Toys Action Portable SXCLB Set Up for Pre-Order Now

3A Toys has put up a surprise drop for a 1/12 scale Action Portable 2-pack of the risque SXCLB set, released previously in 1/6 scale. They posted a comparison picture of the pink Ankou from the set with the recently released 10 Finger Gang. The picture with Little Shadow and the Ankou is from the 1/6 set – so far no shots of her in 1/12 scale. The set is up for $120 at Bambaland.

Not sure how long it will remain up, but previous 1/12 sets have gone for a couple of days.
