DC Collectibles Crime Syndicate Takes the Sting off of Losing Club Infinite Earths

When DC Collectibles put up the solicits for their Crime Syndicate figures, a few things weren’t clear. First, they only partially revealed Ultraman, Superwoman, and Power Ring, so knowing that three more characters in Owlman, Johnny Quick, and Atomica are coming is pretty cool, seeing as how we’ll be getting the big hitters in a couple of months.

Second, Atomica? It wasn’t clear from the solicits that this was a New 52 Crime Syndicate, but seeing as how everything is New 52 these days, I shouldn’t have been surprised. The designs are fairly similar to those from the Morrison / Quitely JLA: Earth 2 run, so I don’t have the automatic “I hate New 52 designs” that normally crop up.

But the big thing for me here is the articulation setup. Aside from Atomica, who looks like a slug pack-in for Johnny Quick, the guys have 25 POA while Superwoman loses the ab swivel for 24. With DC Universe Classics on the back burner in 2014, these new super-articulated figures could satisfy my DC fix. I hope these fly off the shelves and convince DC Collectibles to make this the standard – the rest of the New 52 figures coming are much less articulated than these guys.

The Crime Syndicate is Coming to DC Collectibles…

…so you might want to get caught up on who they are.

An anonymous source over here at DC Collectibles managed to get a hold of this highly classified dossier that breaks down the key members of the Crime Syndicate, who can currently be seen causing all manner of mayhem in this week’s FOREVER EVIL #1. Whether this is your first run-in with the Syndicate or if you’ve tangled with these dark dopplegangers before, this file should be considered required reading before you let these very shady characters into your homes (and collections!).

Look for the new Crime Syndicate action figures to make their way to your favorite comic book and specialty stores in February and March, 2014. Or you shop for them online at Amazon or at www.shopdccollectibles.com.

Win the Exclusive Rescue Version Hot Toys Captain America from Sideshow

I’d love to have the contest and giveaway budget that the good folks at Sideshow Toys seem to have. Here’s a contest on the Sideshow Facebook page for the Rescue version of Captain America that was a summer exclusive from Hot Toys last year. You’re going to have to do a little work for this one, though – they want you to share who would be Bucky to your Captain America. There’s already quite a few heartfelt tributes in there. Should be an inspirational read by the time the contest comes to a conclusion this Sunday.

Sideshow Collectibles - Who is your Bucky Giveaway

This version of Captain America is specific to the scene in the movie where Steve Rogers busts into Hydra headquarters in order to save his best friend, Bucky Barnes. We at Sideshow Collectibles want to know, who is your Bucky? Who would you risk your life to rescue from the clutches of a super villain organization? Why?

Our favorite Cap/Bucky story will receive a Hot Toys Captain America Rescue Version. Entries must be received by Sunday September 8, 2013 by 5pm, PST.

ThreeA Toys Adventure Kartel Dead Easy Corp 3-Pack Pre-Order Date Set for 9/12

And to round out our 3A Toys updates for today, the 3-pack of 1/6 scale War Zombs is going up for pre-order on 9/12 at 9PM EST at Bambaland.

These were erroneously marked with a 1/12 scale when originally revealed, and while I’m looking forward to a 1/6 release, my wallet would have appreciated a 1/12 price. Still, I’m pretty sure I’m in for Private Cornowski, Corporal Veal Edwards, and Sergeant Sweetbread Jones.

ThreeA Toys Teases TKLUB Four Ronin OYA SUN

Still no look at the next 3A Toys TKLUB figure itself, but Ash hints that Ronin OYA SUN is related to the formerly exclusive Ronin MOON TK. The silhouette on the teaser seems to confirm the large parka. I guess the Outerverse is cold. And requires big bombs / lunchboxes. I don’t recall seeing a sale date yet, but the calendar’s getting crowded and I’m gonna need a raise to keep up with all the 3A releases. 😉

Ash also gives some clarification on what he means by the “classic TQ” that is the reward for buying all four of the next TKLUB offerings – Ronin OYA SUN is the first of the four. HK Venture offered two versions of Tomorrow Queens, Ayako and Junko (plus colorway variants for each), so there’s still some ambiguity over what the TKLUB exclusive TQ will be. But I guess that’s standard operating procedure, and part of the fun!

BOMBS AWAY

Re CLASSIC TQ, in that I mean the same as the original HK Venture release, same except the shirt decal will be different and hair color. Here is some intel on SUN’S lunch box. Oh yea, I guess its kinda a no brainer that SUN and MOON both hang together doing Roniny type things in the outerverse.

No details yet on when they’ll go up for pre-order, but it looks like they’ve got more surprises for October in store.
