Weekend Toy Run: Star Wars Black Series Emperor Palpatine Wave at Amazon

Star Wars Black Series Emperor Palpatine wave

The latest wave of Star War Black Series 6-inch figures is up for pre-order individually at Amazon. This is great for folks who may want to pick and choose who they’re getting from the wave. Each is $22.99 and qualify for Prime 2-day shipping.

For Prequel fans, you can never have enough Clone Troopers. Original Trilogy fans will want to pick up Emperor Palpatine. And Luke and Han are great for army builders since they can wear their Stormtrooper helmets – but don’t be disappointed that Luke isn’t a little short to be a Stormtrooper. I’m sure customizers will figure out how to fix that easily enough.

Big thanks to our friend Rodney for giving us the heads-up!

You Wanted More Orcs? Orc Army Builders Unlocked for Mythic Legions Kickstarter

Mythic Legions MOAR ORCS

As the Mythic Legions Kickstarter counts down to the end of its funding stage (we’re at under 5 days left), backers are blowing through new stretch goals before the Four Horsemen can reveal all the details for them. If that sounds familiar, that’s because it also happened yesterday! This may be the biggest one yet, though – supporters of the project have been clamoring for an Orc Legion Builder since funding opened. Now you can add them as singles (as many as you want) or in six-packs with a price break (almost one Orc for free!)

But that’s not all. A second weapons pack was also unlocked, with a mace, halberd, and an Orc sword ( the Four Horsemen haven’t had the chance to show them yet.) And as a bonus, Urzokk, one of the Orc champions, will come with an alternate war paint head. Since parts are interchangeable between figures, that just means more customization options for you.

Think the Four Horsemen have any more surprises in store?

New Stretch Goal Announced and Unlocked for Four Horsemen Mythic Legions Kickstarter

Mythic Legions Azhar, Zazhar, and Sir Valgard

With under a week left and the original funding target and stretch goals surpassed, the Four Horsemen’s Mythic Legions Kickstarter project has picked up momentum – and is now moving faster than they can supply updates. After revealing Azhar and Zazhar, the demonic pair of figures that had been unlocked sight unseen, the Four Horsemen posted a new stretch goal for the Kickstarter-exclusive Sir Valgard and a weapons accessory pack… which was promptly unlocked.

But there’s more to come. The Four Horsemen have revealed artwork for a Mythic Legions comic book, and teased another stretch goal that will include a second weapons pack and perhaps more characters. I’m hoping we’ll see an orc army-builder. Stay tuned!

Hasbro Reveals New Star Wars Rebels Action Figures [Spoilers]

Hasbro Star Wars Rebels Reveals (spoiler-free)

Hasbro has revealed the latest figures from its Star Wars Rebels line, featuring a duo from the finale of the first season. Just in case you haven’t seen the finale yet, the image above only shows the figures in silhouette – I’d hate to be the one to spoil it for you. But be warned, they appear below in all their glory.

This pair of Star Wars Rebels figures will be available this fall.

Border Patrol: Marvel Legends Polaris, Strong Guy, and Forbush Man

For this edition of Border Patrol, we’ve got three Marvel Legends customs that have varying degrees of possibilities to see plastic form from Hasbro. From most to least:

  • Marvel Legends Polaris by IslandToybox – Polaris is one of the most popular of the X-Men who hasn’t seen a figure in the Legends line – she is regularly at the top of the most wanted lists, so maybe Hasbro will get the hint – ends Friday, March 6 at 5:35PM PST
  • Marvel Legends Strong Guy by callan-86 – X-Factor’s Strong Guy is a possibility in either the Build-a-Figure format or using one of the larger body types that Hasbro has developed – but he probably doesn’t have enough mojo outside of X-Factor fandom to get his own figure – ends Friday, March 6 at 8:39PM PST
  • Marvel Legends Forbush Man by Kustom Novelty Workz – let’s face it, as much as you and I may love Forbush Man, it’d take a miracle to see Hasbro make an official one in the Legends line – available via Buy It Now or Best Offer

In AFP’s Border Patrol, we scour active eBay auctions for customized action figures that you won’t want to let slip by!
