ThreeA Toys Fighting JC – Experimenting with Manual Camera Settings to Control Light

The Fighting JC in 1/6 scale from the 3A Toys Adventure Kartel line was one of my most wanted figures. I was able to pick one up from a fellow collector on the Unofficial ThreeA Legion BST group on Facebook, and I’ve been meaning to take pictures of him since I got back from abroad. I’ve been procrastinating, though, because I haven’t been too happy with how my more dramatic (read: dark) pictures have been turning out. A rather circuitous session of web browsing got me off my butt to experiment with completely manual settings on my camera. Feel free to accompany me on that little journey.

ThreeA Toys Previews Action Portable Adventure Kartel 10 Finger Gang

In addition to the Action Portable Popbot Tomorrow Queens, over the weekend 3A Toys previewed the Action Portable 1/12 scale 10 Finger Gang. When 3A made the 1/6 versions available for pre-order back in October last year, they were available both as blind-boxed singles and in one huge eleven figure set. No word on price yet, but I’ll guess it’ll be in the $375 to $475 range for all eleven of these. I don’t know if I’m fond enough of the Zombots I have already to order all of these guys, but I definitely do regret not getting all 12 Dirty Deeds Berties back when they were still available as sets (even on the after market). It looks like these will have fully-articulated fingers, so that’s pretty damn cool in this scale.

If you’re curious, in the center is King Thumb, and starting from him it goes 1 through 5 on the left and 6 through 10 on the right. You can find more info on the Nefarious 10 Finger Robot Gang at the 3A Wiki.

ThreeA Toys Popbot Tomorrow Queens Slated for Action Portable Release

Tomorrow Queens in the 1/12 scale made their first appearances at San Diego Comic Con this year, with a 1/12 Little Shadow (technically from Adventure Kartel) and two black / white queens. The APTQ preview above, however, features five Tomorrow Queens seen for the first time in 1/12 scale. From left to right, they are:

  • Queeny from Seven Bones
  • Princess, who in 1/6 was the first TQ from Tomorrow King Classics
  • TQLoper, who in 1/6 was a very rare chase figure
  • Lolli, the XXXmas Tomorrow Queen, who in 1/6 went on sale in December last year
  • Vanilla Pod, who came with a severed bot head in her 1/6 release

Am wondering what we might see for a super secret rare drop when these go up for pre-order, hopefully in December. What do you guys think?

ThreeA Toys Pile of Loot – Fighting JC, Tommy, and Zombs (and more Zombs!)

I’ve been spending some time with my parents for a few weeks, and I’m going through toy withdrawal. But one of the silver linings in the being away from home cloud is the pile of loot (to borrow from one of my favorite online retailers, Big Bad Toy Store). It just so happens that the pile is filling up with some awesome stuff from 3A Toys, including a 1/6 Fighting JC (my latest Holy Grail), Tommy, and Zombs in both the 1/6 and 1/12 scale.
