Weekend Toy Run: Time to Army-Build Star Wars Black Series Stormtroopers

Star Wars Black Series Darth Vader and Stormtroopers on Cloud City

For a while it was tough to find the Star Wars Black Series Stormtroopers. They were originally in the wave 3 case packs that included prequel Obi Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, and a repack of Han Solo. Since Han had just been released in wave 2, I was expecting smaller orders and less availability for the wave overall.

That seems to be alleviated now, as Amazon has the Stormtroopers on sale for $15.34 (normally $22.99). Since Amazon is notorious for making many price adjustments throughout each day, Entertainment Earth also has the Stormtroopers for $19.99 each (but they’ll arrive in May.) After all, you’ve got to have at least 50 Stormtroopers, right? 😀

Finish Him! Marvel Legends All-Father Wave Extras Available at Amazon (Update: and Toys R Us, too!)

Marvel Legends All-Father wave - Thor, Odin, and Old Man Thor

Whether you’ve ordered a set or case online or found the Marvel Legends All-Father wave at retail, chances are you’ve got one or two of the most excellent Build-a-Figures from the wave, Odin or Old Man Thor, waiting to be completed. Right now, you’re in luck – Amazon has the likely candidates you need to complete your BAFs in stock:

For good measure, Sentry and Machine Man are also available at the $21.99 price, but Scarlet Witch and Captain Marvel are jacked up in price (who says no one wants female action figures?) Update: Captain Marvel is back down to $21.99 – get her while you can! Update 2: The entire All-Father wave is available for $19.99 at Toys R Us. Thanks to Pmizzey for the heads up!

I had an extra Hawkeye from my case and got Iron Fist a couple days ago, so now I’ve got Thor on his way with that last leg for my Old Man Thor BAF. All around, I’m very pleased with this wave and the two BAFs – more pics soon.

Toy Fair 2015: Marvel Legends Report

Toy Fair 2015 Hasbro Marvel Legends Hulkbuster Iron Man (2 of 22)

I don’t want to jinx it, but the last time I felt like this coming out of a Marvel Legends showroom was the year that Toy Biz announced that Marvel had signed the licensing agreement with Hasbro. They had ambitious plans for that final year, and it showed. If they were going to let the license go, they were going to go out with a bang.

This time around, it feels like it’s Hasbro that’s got something to prove – that Marvel Legends is their line, and no one can do it better. How do you think they did?
